I'm not sure, and the reason why is that the car comes inside the outer paper box (pictured) and has a sturdy and clear plexiglass type box inside in which the car and the platform are encased. The plexiglass box appears to allow one to open it, and the car appears to be attached by 2 pegs to the base that keeps it from rolling. I'm not certain if you can actually detach the car from these pegs and the base or not, and chose to leave mine sealed within the box that it arrived in. The car appears by detail to be very accurate as to the car shown in the movie, and a very nice piece to add to one's collection. Hope this helps.

The car is actually about 4" long. It is 1/43rd scale. Matchboxes are 1/64th scale (smaller) and about 1.5" long. Hope this helps!
