Been relying upon a bog-standard Weller soldering iron up until now. Started doing more electronics work in my hobby (repairing retro computers) so decided to get a soldering station. Settled on this one as it has a soldering iron, desolder gun and hot air gun.All work very well, and get up to / remain at temperature just fine. The control unit is fairly sturdy and easy to use - select the temperature and off you go. There are presets available, and other settings, but don't tend to use them much. It does remember the last temperature setting, which is quite handy. My iron is more or less permanently stuck on 350°C.All of the tools are reasonably sturdy for the price - the desolder gun in particular is very good - much better and easier to use than the manual ones I've used in the past in conjunction with a soldering iron; place the nozzle over the solder spot, wait for it to start to flow, then press the trigger to suck into the gun. The control box must contain a pump to draw a vacuum.It's not terribly noisy, nor does it take much space up on the desk. You get a selection of spares with the unit, and parts are readily available online (like different bits).Niggles: The manual is readable, but not terribly well translated. The feet on mine are not quite level, so has a slight wobble if you place it on a flat surface. The soldering iron and desolder gun plug into the same port on the unit, so you can only have one plugged in at a time. They could have thrown in a selection of solder bits, at least a chisel one.Those aside, very happy with this, and it has made a lot of soldering projects a lot easier.

I got this for a small electronics lab, it's quite a comprehensive kit covering most of the soldering needs (we also have a solder pot for larger scale desoldering).Some clever safety features such as auto detecting the hot air gun is on its stand and the fan 'run on' timer to cool the tip. The desoldering gun works really well too.I have used a much more expensive pro grade soldering/desoldering station before (it needed a compressed air line). This is equally as good/if not better.The only thing I wish it had is an extra connector for the soldering iron but can't really complain at this price.
