Duh! Where has this been all my life?!
I feel so dumb! I've been playing the violin since 5th grade (and that was quite a few decades ago!) and until a couple of months ago, I had NO IDEA a violin stand was a "thing"! All these years when I've balanced my bow across the stand? Held the violin on my lap? Set my violin carefully on my chair? NO MORE! I was at church and saw a violinist pick up her violin from a stand on the floor. I was shocked! What IS that?!? Well, when I asked her about it, it turned out it was a jerry-rigged guitar holder that barely worked for her, but that got me to thinking . . . so I looked here and found out there are a lot of choices for violin stands. After reading the reviews, I settled on this one. I like that it is metal (sturdy--even on carpeted flooring) and has padding that cradles the violin. The bow holder is great! No more trying to balance it on the stand and walk around it. So far, I am storing it in my case under the zippered top flap. It doesn't quite zip closed now, but it seems to be held securely in place. Wish I had had this YEARS ago!! Can't wait to break it out for the Cantata practice this year!

Perfect Violin Stand!
What does one do when the pandemic drags on and one is about to go stir crazy?Learn a new instrument!I purchased a violin (see separate review) but soon discovered that packing it away after each use led to less practice. Out of sight, out of mind, one might say.I saw this affordable stand, and thought I'd give it a try. I am very pleased! This stand adjusts to accommodate different sizes (important for young students who may move on to a larger instrument). I use it for a standard sized violin and it fits perfectly. The wide stance and low center of gravity provide a safe and stable way of keeping my violin at the ready. There is also a convenient bow holder built in. I was further pleasantly surprised to discover that this stand accommodates an attached shoulder rest, eliminating the need to remove it every time practice is finished. See my photos with front, side and back views. The arms are well padded to prevent scratches to your instrument's finish. Two thumbs up! A great value, and a quality product.

It’s Eh
Good product but isn’t as sturdy if you want the violin to be upright instead of on the side. The violin fell over once. If you keep it on the side then there’s nothing to worry about.

Great little stand BUT....
Great little stand my office and at home. I don't have kids or pets so I don't have to worry about it getting knocked over. It's got a good wide stance on it and wouldn't fall over easily (tested it on a crappy Bestler violin to make sure) all and all it does the job. However I'm not too keen on the bow holding part as the bow leans and puts lateral pressure on the end screw (I wouldn't suggest using it to hold your Georg Werner or JonPaul Vetta bows that's for sure).

Bought this for our 8-yr-old grandson
We purchased this violin stand for our grandson, who lives in another state. As far as I know, he is getting great use out of it. When we video talk, we can see his violin perched in the stand, ready for practicing, which he loves. He has a small violin, but the stand adjusts to any size. It also holds the bow. Very nice.

It's pretty wobbly...
This stand is ... just okay? You really do get what you pay for here. I've more than once thought about returning it, however my 4/4 Franz Hoffmann Danube violin has already worn a massive groove in the padding just from its very light weight, so I don't think they'd accept a return. In addition to the flimsy padding, it's extremely top heavy and unstable with a violin actually resting in it. The slightest bump will cause it to tip, so, as another reviewer suggested, I keep my violin sideways with the neck safely protected by virtue of ducking under my piano. My violin, for the moment at least, lives in my room where it's safe. If you're a gigging musician, in an orchestra, or own a violin worth more than $250, I STRONGLY recommend that you look elsewhere.

Shoulder rest must be removed to use.
I received the two that I ordered in reasonable time. They are well made. I was disappointed that I had to remove the shoulder rest to use it. I decided to use one to hold my mandolin instead. It’s a great product of you don’t use a shoulder rest or if you lie it sideways

works well
easy to get together. I sat it one a table by the piano so the violin is right there at hand all the time. I have a cat who like to steal and knock thing over. he has been on that table stealing on numerous times and the violin has never fallen over.
