Expensive but worth every penny
I did a great deal of research before purchasing this suitcase, and have previously purchased a suitcase on average, every other year. I travel occasionally for work, but purchased this piece of luggage to be my "go-to" vacation and leisure travel piece. I wanted to find a suitcase that could possibly be the last peice of luggage I ever have to buy, and I think this will definately be that. I have only used it once so far, but have to say, it's exceeded my expectations.Pros:Easy to pack, and well designed interior: The main body of the suitcase is segregated into two compartments. A top portion that is roughy 1/3 the depth of the case, and a larger bottom portion. This allows one to segregate more delicate items in the top, while still having a larger bottom compartment in which to place bulkier items. The top portion has a zipper flap that further aids in segregation. This compares incredibly favorably to the last hard sided suitcase that I purchased before a cruise in 2013. The previous hard sided piece was divided 50/50, making lifting the lid challenging when fully packed, and surprizingly, not allowing for as many items. This Tumi has nice interior pockets for small items.Size: I purchased the Tumi Vapor Medium, because I'm primarily using it for leisure travel. Which equates to me personally paying for over-weight baggage. I packed for a two week trip, took five pair of shoes, lots of both formal and casual clothing, and I could have easily been gone a month with the amount of clothing I was able to pack. Incredibly, even packed "to the gills ", it only weighed 46 pounds (comfortably below the 50 pound limit).Ease of maneuvering: This suitcase rolls easily on 2 or 4 wheels. The telescoping handle is easy to operate, and very well constructed.Excellent exterior construction: I went to hard sided suitcases after having a lovely red soft side stained during it's maiden trip by sitting on a rainy tarmac. My Tumi is very tough, but got some "battle scars" on it's first trip. By this I mean some scuffs to the exterior that won't buff out. These are nothing that make it look ratty or tacky (like the water stains had on my soft side). I guess a few scuffs are unavoidable given that airlines must pack them tightly together, and they need to travel on multiple conveyor belts. This trip included baggage-handling on a cross country flight and man-handling by cruise ship baggage handlers.Easy to identify: I chose the lava color so I could spot it easily on a luggage conveyor belt. The color of this Tumi is a bit more orange than red, which was initially a little dissapointing, as from the on-line picture, I was expecting it to be more red. This is however, a really lovely color. I can say nothing looked similar to this suitcase at any baggage claim, so very easy to identify,Special features: Built in external combination lock, and an internal identification RFI tag in case your suitcase is lost and external tags are missing. When you get your suitcase they encourage you to register it at Tumi on-line, using the internal unique ID number. I'm not sure how the logistics work, but they say they will contact you if they get word of a un-identified Tumi. Hmmm...Cons:I guess the only con is that there will inevitably be more scuffs. Tumi has changed the finish on the newer models, which should make that less of an issue.Bottom line: I would definitely recommend spending the extra money for such a beautiful and well-designed piece of luggage.

WE BOUGHT TWO
My wife wanted the one with four wheels. I preferred the two wheels and found it just as easy to turn and very slightly bigger. If we had it to do over, we'd buy the very same things. They seem solid, look good, and the price was very satisfactory.

Tumi is my #1 choice for luggages.
Fantastic Luggage!I recently lost my old Samsonite on a flight. So I start searching for any available luggages within 400 dollars. This luggage is the best ooption I can find over the internet. I used sent 2 Tumi Alpha luggages for my best friend and my father. And they have very good comments about it.Pros: Affordable price, lightweight, durable, unusual feel of the surface. The wheels are very durable and convenient. One of the most important parts of a luggage is wheel. A good wheel lasts for a decade. This luggage comes with 4 super durable wheels which are quiet on most surfaces.Cons: The handle is not strong enough. I'm afraid I might broke it someday. The paint can be easily scratched by sharp items. And mine got many small scratches after checking the bag.

No keys included for the lock!
We ordered this suitcase and they did not include the keys for the already locked lock. The suitcase is useless!

Best suitcase I've owned
I have logged over 10k miles with this luggage and multiple airlines handling it, including delayed baggage handling (which often does not turn out well for international flights) and it has come through with shining colors. Scuffs are not as noticeable. Very durable yet lightweight. I average one trip overseas a month (sometimes more) so I need something that will standup to rigors of frequent travel. So far I could not be happier.

great hardside
plan ahead and wait for the Tumi sale after the main travel seasons. Decent quality and plenty big. If you're unsure, get some old Amazon boxes, tape and a box knife and construct a mock up using the stated dimensions. This is much easier than the return and reorder process since the quality, color and utility of this bag should not be cause for concern..

Great suitcase but can't find one small thing
I love this suitcase. Just got back from travelling in US, Canada and Mexico and it was great. My only problem is I can't the registration number for it. I searched all over and found a pocket with a little zip lock bag but it wasn't there. Anyone know where it is?
