BUY ONE, THANK ME LATER.
I used one of these on active duty years ago in south Georgia (and every cold place we deployed to), and I loved it for the knit cuffs. The increase in heat retention is markedly superior to the regular issue M-65 jacket liner. The addition of the button front is nice too, enabling the user to wear it as a stand-alone garment, or as part of a cold weather layering system. The pockets are small but can be handy. Yes, just room enough to get your hands in. This liner can be worn as typically pictured- pockets out, or reversed. Buttoned into a M-65 type jacket with the pockets "reversed" and therefore against the body is a nice option. This is especially useful if one needs to keep bottled water or whatever from freezing in sub-zero conditions. Not that the M-65 field jacket is the best pick for such conditions, but the Alpha Industries liner can be worn as a layer under anything. The new Alpha Industries liner I received this month is very similar to the one I had years ago. Same excellent quality control, and overall fit and finish. The OD green nylon material is a slightly darker tint than my old one, and seems to be of a mildly tighter weave or thickness. It feels more abrasion resistant. The loft seems thinner however, which initially concerned me. But after wearing it days ago, I am happy to give it a thumbs up. Whatever the insulation, this product is still excellent.

Good replacement for the original
Fit the inside of a genuine woodland pattern SMALL-SHORT m65 field jacket. Interior pockets are nice and give you more storage in addition to your field jacket's already great storage cap. Don't button them in order. Skip a few or it'll be scrunched, you'll see. Makes your jacket very warm even if the air is cold but the sun is out.

Perfect for Big Guys
Well made, very warm, and fits the coat (by the same Company) perfectly. Please see my review of the coat itself for greater details? I am a big guy, 282# 6'0" that bought and owns both the 4XL and 5XL liner, and the 5XL M-65 Coat. (Am disabled, on blood thinners for life, etc) and wear the 4XL indoors with a T-shirt and Polo shirt and it fits fine, but would be too tight to layer anything warmer with it. So I bought both the liner and coat in 5XL - I like a 'loose' jacket, plus the need to layer sweaters, etc... I will update this in a year or three as well. As always, I do read and reply to comments. Please feel free to say if this review was found helpful :-)

The sleeve length and body length are a perfect fit.
I have a number of fancy jackets and coats by Arcteryx, Patagonia, and Mountain Hardware .... I purchased an Alpha Industries M-65 for use as my 'outside' jacket for working in the yard or going to the DIY store ..... I had a couple of service issue M-65's in OD and Woodland Camo, but I wanted a less conspicuous Look, and purchased one in Black ...... I could have used one of my Arcteryx light layers to use as a liner for the Alpha M-65, but didn't want to have to worry about damaging it ..... My Alpha M-65 and ALS liner were to be expendable ..... The ALS liner (black, medium) fits my Alpha M-65 (medium) perfectly ..... The sleeve length and body length are a perfect fit .... the buttons of the liner and jacket line up perfectly ..... the tabs on the liner cuffs attach to the M-65 cuff buttons perfectly ..... I don't understand all the reviews saying the buttons don't line up and/or there are no attachment points for the cuffs ..... Maybe it's because the folks aren't turning the liner inside-out ..... You have to turn it inside out in order to even see the liner tabs that attach to the jacket cuff buttons .... it's obvious you have to turn it inside out in order to use the pockets Alpha Industries designed into the liner when buttoned into the jacket .... Although not as hefty as the service liner, the ALS will still add some additional warmth to the jacket ..... The Alpha M-65 and the ALS make a great set to bum around in ..... and in some other color than OD or Woodland Camo, you don't look like a 'prepper' .....

Works fine. Like the reversible option to wear as liner ...
Works fine. Like the reversible option to wear as liner or solo. I usually wear XL, but ordered a large to match the M-65 size. Still fit okay, but wouldn't want to have it any more snug. Quality seems fine.

Terrible liner, no insulation at all. Empty pockets where insulation should be. Not anything like real military spec liners.
Horrible liner. I was shocked at how bad it really is. It has the quilted look the real military issue liner has. But the quilting has very little to no fill inside it. It's like empty pockets. No insulating material in most of it at all. I was very disappointed and sent it back immediately. It would have added very little actual warmth to the jacket. I wouldn't pay half the price for this liner. It is super overpriced for it's actual quality and usability. Unfortunately you will find that the Alpha brand field jackets don't take the real military spec liners. The hole patterns are very different. So the only choice for a liner for an Alpha field jacket is this terrible quality liner. Alpha should be ashamed of calling this a liner, and the price they think it's worth. The Alpha jackets themselves are very nice and high quality. Too bad the liners they sell that are proprietary are garbage. I guess I'll still have to wear a hooded sweatshirt underneath it again this winter. :(

Jacket is loose for Action
I was issued a M65 with liners. The older liners had more insulation bulk to them. This liner has less bulk but same insulation quality. The issued liner has no cuffs. This new one has eve stretch cuffs to block cold air from entering the sleeves. Otherwise, it fits my issued M65 just right.

I can wear it during the windy day around 11-15 degree, very handy and light. Inside I just take a polo shirt is okay.

Adds good warmth to my M65. On its own it is a little loose at the lower back, but fits well otherwise. I am 6.1 168lbs.

Great product really pleased

Excellent liner. Quality and workmanship too is superior. Unfortunately a button fell off but I am sure it is a very rare exception considering the overall finish.

The liner is a must if you have the outer shell. Combined(well fit) will give you warmth in almost any weather. A little heavy but it will last for years.
