If it wasn't for a helmet, this seat could have sent my son to the hospital!!!!
I want to start off by saying, my 2.5 year old LOVED this chair. Every time we put him in it he had the biggest smile on his face. With that said there are two issues with this carrier. The first is the rack it is small and does not fit on most bikes. Luckily we have street, mountain and race bikes because it would not fit with the bike we had planned or our first backup. The second and main issue is with safety. If you look at the picture you will see the large black round grip on the base (below the handle bars) that one screw is the ONLY thing holding the seat and your child on the rack! Ours failed and our son slid right off the rack flipped over twice on the pavement before finally stopping. Luckily he was wearing a helmet and had no major injuries. I did contact the manufacturer and they were very kind and seemed genuinely concerned about the issue and my ideas on how to solve it. But until they come up with a second or even a third way to ensure this carrier does not fall off. PLEASE do not buy this, for the safety of your child.

Nice bike seat needs snap-in shoulder straps.
Three-point belt system a good idea, however, the shoulder straps are difficult to adjust. I replaced the two shoulder straps with snap-in clips.

DO not buy
To start I want to say I am an avid cyclist and a mechanical engineer.Second I want to say that when I received this in the mail the box was crushed and I do mean crushed. Split down the side crushed. I sent pictures to the seller and they offered a full refund without me even asking for one, all I did was send pictures. But the seat was not damaged.OkThe rack the seat sits on barely fit on my bike (Trek Marlin). The seat post on my bike was angled back in a way that I had to slide my seat forward as far as it would go and the rack as far back as it would go so I could squeeze the child seat onto the rack and secure it.One the seat was "secured" to the bike is not locked tight. (Meaning that it could still wiggle some.)Finally I want to say that the seat and rack are made out of cheap material and if I have seen this seat in person I would have never bought it.I only got this seat over the other options, because it had handle bars for my son to hold onto. We had just come back from the beach where we had rented a bike with a seat similar to this and he loved it. It was the only seat I could find on amazon that had handles like this. Most seats have a bar across the waist or nothing. If you know of a better seat that has handle bars like this seat please reply so I can get it.

Good construction and easy fit
Great fit. I had a professional install it for maximum safety.

Mounting Issues
The seat is fine. It's safe, durable, comfortable, etc. The instructions included with the seat are poorly written. This is an imported chair and what the distributor needs to do is take the poorly translated instructions and make a proper installation instruction manual. We have Trek bikes. I had to go to our factory and fabricate mounting for this seat. Shouldn't be necessary as they said it would fit.Worth the money compared to others but be ready to get crafty!

Seems solid once mounted 2 hour install not universal fit
I'm not going to lie to you. I wanted to take it back after I spent the first hour installing it. The reason for my problems are two-fold. Problem one is that the directions are barely sufficient. Problem two is that the hardware included wouldn't fit my bike. I have a Trek 7000 series, it is the hybrid style which is a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike.Like I said, I would have taken it back but I got a good deal and didn't relish the idea of returning it. As such I wound up going to the hardware store, purchased a propane torch, some steel and set about making new brackets. This was about $22. The length was about the size of two brackets together with a few extra inches on the bike side and a 45 degree bend. I heated the steel with the rack portion just about completely in a vise. When it turned red it was slowly pulled down to the make the 45 degree bend.I drilled two holes in the steel at the rack end and one at the bike end. A few minutes later it was all together. I had to provide some of my own washers, lock-washers, and nuts. The rest of this took a second hour and I still need to paint the steel to make it look finished.I have to say it seems solid so far but a few minor issues need adjustment: the leg straps are too long to hold feet restrained properly and need to be cinched from the rear or otherwise shortened, the harness could be more easily adjusted, the directions say a reflector should be added to the rear but none is provided. And though I make a lot of complaints for the price and my provided labor I feel it's fair to rate "It's OK".Other comments I'd like to make. The seat is detachable so it leaves me with a rack if I'm not with my child. If I had a regular road bike or mountain bike maybe things would have gone more smoothly. Who know.. but so far so good.

Best ride in town.
We already had a bike seat, but after a visit to Florida and renting a bike with a similar seat,we had to get one. What a difference. My grandson didn't like the old one and always wanted to get off the bike. With the new one with handles for him to hold on, he thought he was also riding a bike.
