Worth the money. Higher quality than expected.
I bought this pair for my son as he has reached adulthood. I have a pair I have used for years, not sure how many but more than 5. Mine are still in great condition and still very sharp. My son loves his as well.

8 years later!!!
I purchased these grooming scissors in 2015 and they are still kicking butt. I bought these for some fine tuning on my beard grooming. They are scissors and work as advertised... The quality is superb, maintaining a perfect edge for over 8 years now. I use these for facial hair only and keep the plastic cap to protect them. After all this I have a perfect product (yes the plastic tip cap yellows with age ;) ), and had to write a small review. This is quality craftsmanship, as expected, do not waste money on garbage and spend a few extra bucks. Buying a pair for my brother for Christmas this year

Try them on flyaway hairs
This will be one of the most simplest, basic reviews I've ever posted. I have a beard. Despite being of a relatively long-length, I keep my beard maintained and groomed. Problem with my beard is it likes to get soft, flyaway hairs in it. If you have this problem then you know using electric clippers is a waste of time. It will just push the hair down then the hair will pop back up. I tried 2-3 pairs of the cheaper barber scissors here on Amazon, but they were doing the same thing. They weren't sharp enough to cut the flyaway hairs. I tried these Sanguine and couldn't have asked for anything more. These are perfect, they have no trouble cutting the flyaway hairs. For what it's worth, I also cut my son's hair with them and they do a good job on regular hair too. Nice case too with a magnetic close feature.

If you're left-handed, read this before buying!!!
These are the best I've used yet. I tried another brand and was not pleased: the finger holes were too small and facial hair seemed to slip through uncut. The Sanguine scissors are much better but still not as good as I'd hoped. They're sharp but poorly honed. If you have mustache hair resting on the cutting edge and you shift these a bit, say to adjust the cut angle, the hair will grab. I can't see this roughness, but it's clearly there. In some ways though that might be advantageous -- it's like a minaturized serration. My biggest problem though is that I still have hairs slipping through. I bought these because other reviewers said they're fine for left-handed folks. While the handles are symmetrical they don't work well for me and only now I think I know why. Go to Wikipedia, look up scissors and scroll down to the section on left-hand scissors. The short story is the body mechanics pull the blades apart rather than together. You really want a left-handed scissor. Most manufactures won't admit there's a difference because it costs too much to chase down the 10% of us who are different and the even fewer who don't know about these body mechanics.

Perfection !!
This is the most I've ever spent on scissors of any kind, but I'm tired of having to replace my personal grooming ones ever other year because they wear out, I have very tuff facial hair. I spent more than usual on these and glad I did, they are very sharp, comfortable in the hand, easy to use and have a tip guard so you don't stab yourself, they're that sharp you stab yourself before you know you did. I believe these will last a long time and they come with a nice magnetic closure carrying case and a small comb, it's too small for my beard, it gets stuck. Highly recommend these grooming scissors !!

Great Scissors!
When quality counts, these scissors are worth every penny. I'm so pleased with the quality of the "old world" items coming out of the UK and these scissors keep the tradition by providing a high quality item that can be kept a life time. So many of us are in the "Throw Away" generation, opting for cheap throw away items rather than expensive quality life time items. Taking a little extra time in your day to maintain your equipment will yield a lifetime of use. These scissors are very well made, extremely sharp, and have a solid closing feel when going through thick facial hair. The sharpness means the hairs will not glide along the length of the blade, they are cut in place without having to chase them. The scissors have a thumb screw so you can adjust the tightness and/or disassemble them for maintenance. I can't imagine a better pair of scissors for the price.

Awesome Sharp Incredible value
After 30 years with the same German scissors, I was in need of a new pair. Living in Costa Rica limited my options. I spent over $50 on the best cosmetic scissors I could find, and of four pair purchased only one was capable of at best a rough cut. I ordered several different scissors on Amazon and these are the best. Super sharp. Precise. Exquisite machining and finishing. Adjustable tension. And my fat fingers fit perfectly ! I am thinking these might even be almost just as good as the lost German ones, which cost today well over $100 !

I've been using this casually for about a week now, but my impression is that it's really top quality. Dunno what "Japanese stainless steel" means - would have been nice to just know the stainless alloy they used. But marketing BS aside, the casting, milling, and finishing on these looks top-notch. The brass friction knob is smooth as butter, and gives you a remarkably wide and precise range of ajustment. Everything about this feels tight, precise, and ergonomic. The included comb is a joke - I think these were meant to ship with barbie dolls, the teeth are way too tightly spaced to use on facial hair. But who cares, you're buying the scissors for the scissors, and they're fantastic.
