Nice Amber color temp LED bulb, good brightness, and great dimming circuitry. Oddly shaped compared to most but works well.
Many of the LED bulbs I've used have a color temperature of 6500, that is a kind of bright very slight blueish light. This 2700 color temperature bulb is more of an amber like the standard light bulbs I use, there are some applications where I prefer this light in my bedroom. There is one other application it seems to work better on. I have dimmer plates for my two bedroom overhead fixtures. They work by sensing a slight capacitive charge from the body's touch. Holding your finger on the plate will then allow them to dim or brighten till you release. Unfortunately, the LED dimmable bulbs I tried to use first dimmed when I put them in but the light flickered, and when I turned them off and on again they came on full and would not dim at all. I switched to this type and it worked much much better. While it doesn't dim (as is the characteristic of all LED's it seems) very low like comparable incandescent or florescent bulbs, it still has a decent range.Recommended for better dimming circuit and more amber color temperature. If you don't like the very white brightness of some of the new LED's this is the ticket. It will emulate the amber color of your old incandescent bulbs very well. This flexibility is an advantage you can't get with those old bulb types. The part that's great that I can't test is life, I'm roundly disappointed the florescent bulbs I bought to save money barely last a couple years, they were very expensive when they came out too, some of the dimming types I paid 25 dollars for. These have a boasted life span of 22 years and if they last only 7 in heavy use, I'll be quite happy. It's good now that the price has come down.Note this uses a different type of diffusion than most LED's use, but it seems to work at least as well if not better than the others. LED's have to use a plastic diffuser to project the light to a room filling pattern because the element itself is more directional and fits on a circuit board. The first LED's were mostly spot lamps, but now these new diffusion technologies are making it easier for you to do inexpensive standard bulb replacements, and the LED's have the advantage of not only energy reduction, but extreme long life..

Five stars...Yes they are that good!
There is a reason these bulbs are currently the number one selling LED light bulb on Amazon right now and that is because they are that good. I bought the 10 pack which means they worked out to around $8.50 per bulb. That is an unheard of price when it comes to name brand quality bulbs. I replaced the lights in my hallway, bathroom, utility room, and sun-room. What I love about LED bulbs is that when you turn them on they are bright, no waiting around for them to warm up like florescent bulbs. I am in the process of switching my entire house over to LED. This is an expensive proposition but ultimately I think it is worth getting rid of the headache inducing CFL bulbs which contain mercury.I did put four of these bulbs in my ceiling fan fixture which is controlled by an old X10 dimmer. The X10 dimmer is no longer communicating with any X10 links because I've dismantled that home automation protocol in my house. I recently switched to dimmers controlled by a Wink Hub. The beauty with the Wink Hub is that it supports multiple home automation protocols. However the old X10 dimmer does work manually and the bulbs operated flawlessly.I've been learning a lot about LED lately and there is a lot of things that you should know. For example, because a LED bulb doesn't require much power to light up, sometimes when paired with a normal old standard dimmer you may not be enough electrical draw for the LED to know that it is supposed to be off (meaning when the switch is off, the light is still on). The way to solve that problem is to purchase a new LED certified dimmer or only use the bulbs in multiples when controlled by a standard dimmer. So for example, in my ceiling fan the bulbs operate flawlessly because I have 4 bulbs in the fixture. When I tried using a non-LED certified dimmer with fixtures that only had 1 or 2 bulbs I occasionally ran into problems where the lights did not shut off. Using a certified LED dimmer of course alleviates issues with the LED bulbs blinking when they are dimmed. But even my old X10 dims the LED bulbs flawlessly and do not blink; I believe this is because the four bulbs draw enough power to make this work correctly. The last thing I want to say about these bulbs is that they appear to be very "warm" in color in comparison to other LED bulbs I've had. That is a big plus according to my wife, although that really is not that big of a deal for me.The bottom line is that I plan is to purchase more of these lights in the near future because I think they are that good.
