Way too bright at night
Despite the fact this has a supposed night-time setting for the display it is still way too bright, and lights up the whole bedroom. It makes the device unusable as it keeps you awake, or wakes you up during the course of the night as it's so bright. Definitely wouldn't recommend on this basis alone, which is unfortunate, as the rest of the functions work well.

Almost a great little radio!
I had to return the first radio after some weeks due to a developing level of audio distortion but a replacement was sent without question and of no cost to me.But on both radios an annoying very loud audio crack occurs in either the loudspeaker or earphones when changing channels. This occurs even with the volume set to zero. With quality earphones the head-splitting pistol-shot is particularly objectionable. A device with a fault like this should never have left the design department. However, a way round this is to connect a stereo volume control in the earphone lead, set the radio's volume control to max and use the in-lead control to set your desired level. Assuming that you do not need a full volume setting for your earphones this measure will reduce the intrusion level of a channel change. (Unfortunately, this won't improve matters when using the loudspeaker). Both radios had/have a problem with severe lack of WiFi sensitivity (compared with all the other devices in the house). I've had to set up a signal booster just to make reliable contact with the hub in the next room!Although the siting of the earphone socket on the front panel is welcome it’s use from the bed is made frustrating because it’s proximity with the very loose adjacent control knob means that the slightest touch causes a loss of channel. It would be much more useful to have a zapper button allocated to change between earphone and loudspeaker, then the socket could disappear to the back of the radio. The clock display is not on screen when the radio is in use. How useful it would have been to allocate another zapper button to momentarily bring up the clock without switching off!And what a pity that such a neat white radio is matched with an ugly black brick zapper!
