Practical Indonesian Phrasebook: A Communication Guide (Periplus Language Books) Paperback – December 15, 1996

This is the perfect little translation book to carry with me on travel. My parents used to live in Indonesia and I know a lot of words by hearing them said as I was growing up. Now I can see how they are spelled and it helps me remember them better. Tarima kasi!

I love this book. It is very helpful in learning bahasa Indonesia. It makes understanding easy, and speeds up the learning process.

Without being a standout, this has all the essentials that you would expect in a basic phrasebook: pronunciation and grammar guides, phrases organised by category (greetings, ordering food & drink, transport, etc), Malay equivalents and a handy glossary at the end (all searchable for kindle users).My only quibble with the kindle version is that some of the table formats did not conver properly, making some entries a little confusing or just less easy to read.I would recommend this to travellers seeking a basic phrasebook. You may also like to consider "Instant Indonesian: How to express 1,0000 different ideas with just 100 key words and phrases", which takes a somewhat different, and quite clever, approach to the introductory phrasebook.

Great little book. Local Balinese love it when you speak their language. It makes and bartering much more fun and you get what you want when shopping.

Useful phrase book but very small and thin. I expected more of a textbook, I guess.

Small,practic and fun

This is a great, compact Bahasa reference book for those visiting or living in Indonesia. Useful words and phrases. Convenient pocket size for easy travel. Highly recommended!

Excellent for Indonesian basics needed on the first and subsequent visits to Indonesia.Well laid out - very helpful tips to pronunciation and grammar without being too technical. Very user-friendly.Small size good. Text clear.

Handy book but would be helpful if it had possible responses next to questions. When you ask something then you would have an idea of what they responded!

this kindle book only shows the cover and the title page, all other pages are blank!!!!! the best buy i made this year.
