Frustrating
I was really disappointed with this gingerbread house kit. Several of the cookie pieces arrived broken, making assembly difficult from the start. I was also surprised that you have to cut all the cookie pieces apart yourself for each house. For the price, I expected them to come already separated and ready to use. The icing was another problem. The texture was unpleasant, and it was very hard to place candy on the house because the icing did not grip at first. The pieces would fall off before they eventually stuck. I made this with three other people who used different kits, and theirs were much easier to work with. Overall, this kit was more frustrating than fun, and I would not purchase it again.

We had a good time with it!
I bought this product again this year to assemble with my four grandchildren ages 2, 4, 6 and eight. My husband supervised the two-year-old quite a bit. I had forgotten that you need to assemble them several hours before you decorate them but it clearly does say that in the directions. So we assemble them yesterday and we decorated them today. The icing was not really enough to Liberally apply it and so my husband had purchased three containers of white icing to go along with the decorating of the gingerbread houses. We also put the candy decorations each in little bowls and added more of candy items such as chocolate chips little mini M&Ms, M&M peanuts, and 3 diff candy sprinkles. It’s more about the experience. We had a good time with it. But my grandkids don’t really like gingerbread; so next year I will try to get a kit made of some other kind of cookie that they actually like. But it was a great activity for the afternoon and after dinner today, they got to eat them. Well they ate much of the candy and the icing; they don’t really like the gingerbread cookie. My husband and I each had a gingerbread cookie we like them. Also, at the outset it is very challenging to break the larger cookies into the pieces that you’ll use to construct the houses. I used a serrated knife and carefully cut through the cookies to create the walls of the houses and the roofs. It worked pretty nicely.

Terrible
Terrible kit. Looks nothing like the pic on Amazon. Houses are very very small and 2 of them arrived broken. Very few decorations, not the same as what the pic on Amazon shows.

Most delicious set we've ever had
This is a fun set, though my kids aren't in the habit of actually putting them together most of the time. The cookie pieces are very tasty and not rock hard. The frosting was good, though my only complaint is that it doesn't always stick very well. We liked that there were multiple houses, so each kid could work on one. They are smaller, so they are also a little easier to put together. I do recommend getting a star knife to slowly saw through the brakes when you first get it. When I just pushed down with the knife, it broke the corners of a couple of the pieces. Sawing worked like a charm. Overall, we'd get this one again in the future. It's a delicious set at a good price. (dinosaur puppet in the picture not included).

Pretty good
Gingerbread house reviews are always so-so, but I took a chance with these because my kids always get frustrated with the instability of bigger houses. We liked that the houses were smaller and they were easier for my kids to decorate and not get overwhelmed. One of the houses was a mess though because the cookie pieces broke when I was trying to cut them apart (and I followed the directions). Wish they came pre-cut so that we weren't wasting money.

Broken and flimsy
Arrived broken and pieces shattered when we tried to separate them. We only got 2 working houses from each kit. Not enough candy supplied. The frosting is white only not colored.

In crumbles
Bought this for my grandchildren to do as a fun activity to do. Unfortunately it was completely crushed when they opened it. Flimsy packaging. Unfortunately they opened it and completely took it apart before I saw it. It was pretty expensive and the box itself wasn’t sturdy at all.

Great product! Would have given 5 stars if 2 parts were not broken. NOTE To Vendor...note other feedback re broken parts. This is due to POOR/INSUFFICIENT PACKING. Thank you.

The gingerbread already had two major pieces broken on arrival and when carefully cut broke into so many pieces it couldn’t be made. Terrible experience

Las casas llegaron un poco rotas pero nada que no pudiera solucionarse. Toda la familia disfrutó mucho decorando las casas.
