How exactly does this fit onto a factor 55 ultrahook winch hook with shackle mount? do i have to remove the hand gaurd and drill holes?

You do not need to drill any holes. You’ll need to remove the rubber guards. When you remove the rubber guards from one side it will expose the existing holes in which you’ll insert the provided aluminum rivets. Use a punch and a hammer to tap in rivers until flush with the top of rivet. It’s real easy and directions should be provided. It should only take a few minutes to install.

There seems to be two different versions of the Factor 55 Flatlink. Will this rope guard fit both?

I think there specific to which flatlink you have.

Don't know but if you visit Factor 55 website I'm pretty sure they well provide the answer.

will this work for a jeep?

Yes of course you can use this Factor 55 Hook with the Factor 55 Rope Guard that attaches on to the Factor 55 Hook body, on a Jeep, that has a Winch with Synthetic line. It is not Recommended for a Winch with metal wire cable.
