Not just decorative....
Surprisingly well made for a contemporary product. It rivals my vintage Daisy guns. Colorful box makes a great display item. Nicely balanced in spite of the length; aims true.

Great starter BB Guns
Bought 2 of these in summer of 2020. They delivered on time and have proven to be good fun for teaching my 10 and 12 year old how to shoot. The guns are a good, reasonably light weight, option for new shooters. My 10 year old is about 50 pounds and has no issue holding the rifle steady in standing position without support. The guns shoot accurately and can go through aluminum cans at a distance of 20 yards. I would estimate the bb's travel 50-75 yards. The single complaint - and this is a frustrating one - is that ~30% of the time a bb doesn't drop into the chamber when cocking it. It may be how we're holding the guns but shooting blanks disrupts learning to shoot and the enjoyment. 4 star (vs 5) due to this. Lastly - the guns are pretty quiet to shoot.

Cheaply made.
Shot my new BB gun and in less than 5 minutes the cocking lever broke off. It was plastic. Very upset with this purchase. Couldn’t wait to use it and it broke almost instantly.

Not satisfied for the price.
My two 8 year olds wanted BB guns for when we go riding in the woods. At the time Walmart had only one red Ryder left. It was cheap so I grabbed it and ordered this one. They look similar but this one is junk. The front sights are slanted. It barely fires a BB (maybe 1 out of 8 tries). I even placed it on my gun vise to sight the scope in when mounting. The accuracy is awful. The scope mount is flimsy and can be flexed with just your fingers. The red Ryder shoots accurately and fires every single time it just doesn't have a scope. Also this gun was almost 3x as much as the RR. I wouldn't buy it again.
