This little AUERVO travel sewing kit is honestly one of the best fivers I’ve ever spent. It’s proper compact, fits in the palm of your hand or slips in any pocket of your suitcase, but when you unzip it there’s a mad amount inside: loads of thread colours wound on proper bobbins so they don’t tangle, a bunch of decent needles in a little case, tiny sharp scissors, spare buttons, safety pins, even a needle threader for when your eyes are knackered after a long flight. Saved me loads of times already – fixed a ripped hem on my jeans in a hotel in Prague, sewed a button back on the missus’ coat in Edinburgh, and sorted the kid’s teddy when the seam split on the plane. Threads are strong, don’t fray or snap like the rubbish ones you get in hotel kits. The only slight downside is the scissors are a bit on the flimsy side, they’ll do for thread and light fabric but don’t go mad trying to cut denim with them. Still, for the size and the price it’s an absolute no-brainer – chuck it in your washbag or glovebox and forget about it until you need it, then it’s a proper hero. Get one, you won’t regret it.

This is a great set in a handy case, with all of the things you need for sewing badges on jumpers - side note, Cubs and Brownies give out soooo many badges to your children! The threading tools are very useful and the needle store by size is helpful. The only negative is that finding the thread on a new reel is like, well, finding a needle in a haystack. Once you have done this, the set is good and a great way for introducing sewing to kids.

The product itself is really good for the price, I’ve found the supplied extra items such as the seam ripper, scissors, threader and obviously the needles really useful. The only problem I have with the product is the thread provided, it’s incredibly hard to unspool and each colour comes in small quantities. Overall the product is really good but I suggest you take out the thread and replace it with your own.
