Positives: One of the most organized, well-packed appliances I've ever received (see pic). Clear, easy instructions so you can get started right away. Does an amazing job vacuuming. See the pic of my living room. Gets every spot in every room. The app is pretty user friendly. When you first set it up, it does an exploratory run to map out your house which was super accurate. It doesn't get stuck like other robots of different brands I've had. I like the the mopping feature (vacuum is up front, mop in the back, so it vacuums first and then mops behind which is great if you have pets and pet hair). We have a cat and a Rottweiler and it picks up so much hair everyday! I appreciate how it dumps the contents on its own and I just have to worry about emptying it every so often. Negatives: When choosing carpet zones, it won't let you go smaller than 8.3ft x 8.3ft. Um, hallways, smaller rooms, etc? I googled it and the only solution was to let it go off the map which is what I did, but what a pain (see pic). Robot cannot redock while mop plate/pad is on, therefore you cannot really program it to mop while you're away. It took a lot of playing with the map to get the configuration right for mopping. Since you can't make the carpet zones small, you have to pretty much remove area rugs for the mopping feature. Also, so that it doesn't drag the wet mop pad across carpet, it can't really mop my front entry way or bathroom downstairs unless I pick it up and put it over there. Overall: I would buy this again at the Amazon Prime Day price only ($350). The map and choosing areas has carpet zones needs to be improved, and the mop could do a little bit better. It does also state that there should be two feet on each side of the docking station. As you can see in the picture, on the right hand side, I do not have two feet clearance. This was literally the only spot I could put this vacuum since it's supposed to be on a level floor and not carpet. It has not been a problem at all other than I do have to rotate it to empty the container, but that doesn't bother me. The battery life is excellent so far. I've been using this 3.5 weeks now. It is able to do my entire downstairs which is about 1200 square feet and that doesn't even use half the battery. It takes about 70 minutes for it to do and I just program it early in the morning before I wake up.

I have no instructions. It's there a way to get done? How do I remap my home and put in 2 zones. If there are any instructions or there please let me know. The machine was doing a great job but now it's not going to the outside edge of my original mapping and it's missing three of the rooms. Please help!!!!

I purchased this during Amazon Prime Days for an amazing discount! It was a little complicated to set up, so I called Customer Support and spoke with a rep who walked me through the set up. Excellent customer support/service, very patient. It “mapped” my living area, then parked itself in its “garage/home base.” My two cats were curious while it was parked, but terrified while it was roaming about. So I waited a little while before running a true vacuum session. But once I ran it, it does a great job! It’s got some random wandering “pattern”, going under furniture (or around it if it won’t fit) and I do have some decorative pieces I move out of the way. It picks up dust, dirt, tiny bits of paper, the usual. But also cat hair (from two short hair cats). It sometimes skips or misses places. At first I thought maybe it was recharging, but then it just emptied and parked, but not re-emerging to get the missed parts. The “zone” it mapped is kind of odd, but it includes about 95% of the living room area. It is loud while roaming about, but I’M NOT HAVING TO VACUUM! It backs up to its “garage” and empties itself, super loud, BUT IM NOT HAVING TO VACUUM! And emptying the debris tank is simple!!!!! The suction is strong, enough that it “ate” an electric cord for my weather alert radio and I had to remove a plate covering the roller to extract the cord. (No damage done). So be sure there are no exposed cords that it can suck up. I only run this during the day when I am home and can make sure everything (hot wheels cars, cat toys, etc.) is cleared away. I have not tried the “mop” feature just yet, but I’m anxious to give that a go. I have a home with 3 levels, but I cannot buy 3 robot$. Right now it is only programmed for the living room level zone. But I’m hoping at some point to get this programmed for all three levels, moving the “garage/home base” where needed. And, again, it is noisy! Especially while emptying. It is a vacuum cleaner, after all, and they are noisy. And I am not having to vacuum. For that, my hip, lower back, and shoulder are very thankful. I would recommend this, especially if you suffer from lumbar, cervical spine, or joint conditions. RE-REVIEW: After having this a few weeks, and using it only on command versus timed schedule (cats) it has been very reliable about keeping the floors tidy. However, after it working quite well for several weeks, I’ve experienced a glitch: it seems to un-pair itself. I’m not sure what is going on with it—no change in wi-fi service, no change in modem/router proximity or unit location; nor any outages, etc. it takes a while to re-pair it and get going, but then it’s not charged. It takes 58 minutes to just vacuum my living room (just my living room) so now I have to”plan” to get it re-charged, re-paired, re-zoned each time?????? Not good.

Product Review: Shark Matrix Plus Two in One Robot Vacuum Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5 Stars - Great Hardware, Unacceptable Software) The Short Version The Shark Matrix Plus Two in One robot vacuum is an excellent piece of hardware that performs its core cleaning functions well. However, the experience is severely hampered by its connectivity and control app. If you are purchasing this for its "smart home" integration, you should reconsider until the software is drastically updated. The Problem: Flawed Smart Features The only reason I purchased this device was due to the advertising that it "Works With Google Home" for voice control and home automation. Unfortunately, this functionality is almost completely broken. * Daily Reconnection Required: The most frustrating issue is that the Shark Clean Pro app through Google Home must be manually reconnected every 24 hours to function, making automated scheduling or remote starting unreliable. * Voice Control is Unusable: Voice control and full home automation simply do not work correctly. A basic request to start the device often results in a message that the device cannot be started remotely. * Notification Spam: The app's error reporting is severely flawed, turning small issues into major annoyances. When an error occurs, I receive an excessive number of notifications—7 to 10 notifications for a single error—even after the error has been cleared. The Upside: The Robot is Great I must emphasize that I like the robot itself. When it is running, it does a satisfactory job of cleaning. It is a shame that a multi-million dollar company has let such a solid piece of hardware down with a poorly maintained application. All other smart devices in my home work flawlessly, confirming the issue lies squarely with the Shark software. Other Issues I also discovered that the dustbin on my unit was damaged. Thankfully, customer service was helpful and resolved the issue with a warranty replacement. Overall Recommendation If you need a basic, non-smart robot vacuum, this hardware is good. However, if you are buying the Shark Matrix Plus Two in One for the advertised smart features, voice control, and automation—the core reasons for purchasing a modern robot—you will be completely dissatisfied with the app experience. The software requires significant improvement before this product can live up to its marketing promises.

Another Shark product that works as expected. One annoying feature, if you are using the mopping feature, it will stop in when and where it runs out of cleaner, notify you, and sit there stubbornly until the battery dies. God forbid I turn it on to map and leave the house. A truly odd form of self-sabotage.
