Although there is only one Daffy Duck short in this collection, the four original cartoons presented here in their entirety are definitely worth seeing. 1) THE WACKY WABBIT (1942). Robert Clampett. An early Bugs Bunny & Elmer Fudd Cartoon with Mel Blanc and Arthur Q. Bryant supplying the main voices. Bugs arrives in the desert to find Elmer prospecting for gold. Fudd is finally driven to pull his own gold tooth. 2) THE KIDS IN THE SHOE (1935) Dave Fleisher: Like Disney, the Fleischers took fairy tales and adapted them for cartoons. But the Fleischers added their own twists to these cartoons. The highlight here is a great rendition of the song, "Mama Don't 'Low" as essayed by Smiley Burnette, a character actor most associated with westerns, principally as Gene Autrey's sidekick. His voice is almost unmistakeable and the energy of the cartoon, which starts slowly, picks up considerably once he starts singing. Visually nice with a few other moments, notably the ending. 3) GABBY GOES FISHING (1941) Dave Fleisher: Short, fat, boastful Gabby finds a boy fishing and offers his advice. Of course, the boy was doing much better before Gabby arrived. In short order, Gabby loses the boy's catch and bait. When Gabby is taunted by a fish, he rents a boat, tackle, and supplies and goes after the fish. Gabby's brief success is cut short when the fish pulls two plugs from the bottom of the boat; with Gabby's hands occupied plugging the holes, the fish raids his lunch box. Time for the secret weapon: a harpoon gun. The fish ties the harpoon line around an old motor, which starts, destroys the boat, and hauls Gabby around like a water-skier. The boy catches him in his net. 4) TO DUCK OR NOT TO DUCK (1943) Chuck Jones. Daffy challenges duckhunter Elmer to a boxing match, rigged in his favor with the collusion of the duck referee. In the stands, Elmer's dog Larrimore suspects that something funny is going on, but he's drowned out by Daffy's all-duck cheering section. Review: Some great Daffy moments - If you love Looney Tunes, then like me, you probably have all the Golden Collection volumes, but some of your favorite episodes are missing. So you may want to supplement your collection as I do with the old VHS tapes. If you love Daffy, you may want this tape, although only 3 of the 6 cartoons cannot be found on the Golden Collection DVDs. I suggest "Just Plain Daffy"- with 8 cartoons and only 2 are repeats from the Golden Collection, as well. But Daffy has been underdone a bit since that first release when they gave us the Scarlet Pimpernel and Duck Amuck amongst others. Review: A daffy video,no pun intended - I enjoyed this video very much, the opening began with the "This Is It" song from "The Bugs Bunny Show" and it played a parade of clips from various warner brother short subjects on a long film strip and the sequence ended with the title of the video it was sort of similar to those "Walt Disney Cartoon Classics" videos except the clips from those cartoons were not featured on a long film strip and it was all music. Besides the opening sequence this video had 6 great cartoons. 'The Super Snooper' in which Daffy is a detective in a madcap mansion. 'Daffy Duck Hunt'Porky and his dog go duck hunting. 'You Were Never Duckier'in which daffy gets greedy and pretends to be a rooster in order to win $5,000 at a contest. 'Golden Yeggs' where a goose that lays a golden egg tricks everyone into thinking that daffy laid it. 'Dime To Retire'Another one of those shut eye cartoons where Porky spends a night at a Motel and daffy disturbes the pigs slumber. 'A Star is Bored'"Where daffy is Bug's Bunny's Stunt Double' and is on the receiving end of disrespect from both Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam"its also on of the few WB cartoons without bugs bunny in the title. This is a great video featuring daffy at his best and its worht watching,if you want you can order it on the new and used section of desertcart.

Good cartoons....if it could actually last longer than one viewing...
We bought this VHS for our 8 year old son. He wanted to say... "The cartoons include the Hen-Pecked Duck, I want to be a Sailor, and Robinson Crusoe Jr.. I was able to watch the episodes once. After that the VHS didn't work anymore."
