Timeless classic but they added the digital characters in which takes it from a 5 to a 4 star
It's a classic with amazing characters and an epic battle scene. How do you give this less than 4 stars in the grand scheme of things? The kids loved it. The only thing that really stopped me from giving this 5 stars is all the extra crap they added digitally after the fact. IMO it just cheapens the entire film. Leave classics as they are, sometimes you can't make the original better. I get why they added Haden/Anakin on the back end but it makes me cringe seeing his character there next to Obi One and Yoda.

Still probably the best Star Wars film and the revamped edition was fine by me
I'd stayed away from the revamped versions of the original trilogy on principle, not liking the idea of extra CGI etc. However I weakened, simply for the convenience of a digital version while having no access temporarily to my main home cinema system. In fact, I found the revamped version fine, and enjoyed it very much. I'm not sure the added scenes really add a great deal, but I didn't find them bothersome either. And there seems to have been little or no interference with the key scenes and dialogue exchanges that I, like most fans I'm sure, treasure the most and recall fondly from early screenings (I never saw Star Wars itself during its first cinema release, but did see a first-run cinema screening of Return of the Jedi in the Odeon Leicester Square ... what an atmosphere). When I regain access to my home cinema kit, and can run the ancient Laserdisk copies (still the only home format apart from VHS for the true original cinema versions AFAIK and fortunately my examples remain unaffected by the notorious "Laserdisk rot") it will be interesting to compare the detailed differences. However, an academic exercise is all it will be. This remains a simple but powerful story, sometimes derivative and cliche-heavy perhaps, but I don't think you can deny the strength of Lucas's basic vision, and it comes through unscathed in these versions.

Greatest ending to a trilogy ever.
Yeah, Yeah, I know... surely Empire is the greatest of the three films, Yes and no. Empire is great but reconsider Jedi, firstly there's John Williams building on his already very popular soundtrack with "Parade of the Ewoks", a great piece that is so different from the other tracks. then There is the whole Jabba's palace part of Star Wars, so many characters hanging around those scenes you've gotta think, Disney must be looking at the spin offs from the whole of that opening act. and then there's the famous "IT'S A TRAP" battle scene which is just a joy to ride. The only down side is the CGI add in's that has been commented on so many times before so I'm not even gonna go into it. This was and always will be the satisfying end to the trilogy that I loved so much. Just try and seek out the original over the new upgraded (ghost of Anakin) version. you won't regret it.
