This item is 100% not waterproof! Everything I had in there was wet and a lot ruined. I sent the item back with this being my return reason. Now if you can keep from driving in any wind or rain it would be a good solid cargo carrier. But it should be labeled as a non waterproof stroge bag. Definitely wouldn't suggest this purchase. I will update the review after the return process is finished from the water damage to my belongings.

I returned item but there was nothing wrong with it. Just never opened the box bc I bought two & ended up using the first one I opened.

The bag to put the cargo in doesn't match the advertisement as you can see in the photos. That was very disappointing

Great space, but it leaked through and got all of my items wet

I got this to add more luggage space for longer trips. I installed it on a Nissan Altima with no rack. What I liked about it: It seems very well made. I have confidence that it will stay on with 6 points where you can secure it. I liked the roof pad that goes underneath. It came with a lock that you can set your own combination on. It seems weather proof as much as it can be and I have confidence that it would work in the rain. It comes with all of the things you would need to use it for both cars with racks and cars without racks. What I didn't like about it: I was installing it in the summer in Texas and it got really hot. It took about 20 minutes to put in but that was just my first time. I think other times it would go better. It was a little hard to get back into the bag it came with. I don't think it is as aerodynamic as a solid car top carrier so it will likely adversely affect the gas mileage. It is a little hard to get into and put stuff in because the material clings. Opening it up all the way would be better but you would have to go all around the car to do that. Overall: I think this is a great option to use for carrying extra stuff. I have confidence that it will work well but I wish it took less time to put on the car and I wish it didn't get so hot in the Texas heat.
