Vacuum mop robots continue to impress in recent years.
What an amazing time saver. The experience since the vacuum robots from 5 years ago is so much different today. I have 5 people in my household with 3 cats. There is a daily blast of crumbs, pet hair, loose long human hair that I constantly tackle every day. There isn't a way around it, I must vacuum and mop every day to keep my home decently clean. Finding time to do so is also hard. If I miss a single day of cleaning my home looks absolutely terrible. I've been through a few generations of vacuum robots that made automation impossible. From jamming, ineffective random bumping into objects, hair clogs on the under brush - these things made even using the vacuum robots a PIA. It's not perfect but I finally found one where I can just run it and trust it to clean my floors. This vacuum mop is amazing. It solves many of the problems that I had with previous generation vacuum/mops that always required some sort of manual intervention. - Obstacle avoidance. It is amazing at dodging and moving around objects. I set a minefield of objects and it navigated around them easily. This is on its lax detection mode as well, I can set it up for in a much more strict mode to avoid objects which I didn't even need to do. - Hair clogs. Skeptical at first but it also has a blade that cuts out the hair that tangles on its roller brush . I've been running it through many cycles and checked. Not one hair is tangled on it. I also checked the dust bag to make sure it was doing its job and its all in there. One of the biggest annoyances in previous generations was that you would have to manually open the roller and cut off all the tangled hair. This does it automatically for you. - Mopping - has been working well however I haven't had a big spill or mess so far. It has kept my floor clean with hair and bread crumbs. The mop arm extends out and cleans that extra space that it wouldn't have if it didnt. - Navigation - These new lidar equipped vacuums are amazing. They map and cover every inch of floor efficiently. The mopping after is also done in a parallel line that it knows where its mopped before. Previously my old iRobot would just randomly bump into walls and objects and just move back and fourth without direction and miss a ton of spots. - Camera/Patrol - I honestly only tried it for kicks and have not really used its patrol system much. I did snoop on my pets to test it out and it works well but maybe will only use it if I am on vacation away from home.

Stay away.
This vacuum met all my expectations and was a great purchase for a few months. I have large dogs who are messy drinkers, and this vacuum handled the job efficiently without getting “muddy” like my previous one when it accidentally ran over some water. It seemed to detect the water and lift the brush. Setting it up was easy, and I was thoroughly satisfied with it until the roller brush stopped spinning. It’s been over a month since the issue arose, and I’ve had a frustrating experience with customer support. They’ve been unhelpful and have repeatedly asked me to perform troubleshooting that doesn’t even match my model. The latest insult is that they’re insisting that I provide proof of having paid off my credit card to process my warranty claim, even though I used a 12-month no-interest deal on my credit card when I purchased the vacuum. My brother, who also purchased the same model after seeing mine in action, is facing a similar issue with his roller brush not spinning. He’s also having a frustrating interaction with support. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against purchasing this vacuum. It’s not worth the trouble and the hassle of dealing with customer support. UPDATE Feb 2026: Still dealing with support four months later. Seriously, stay away.

New features I like so much!
This robot vacuum cleaner is a versatile and innovative. I like it so much. Except the basic function of robot cleaner, like scheduled cleaning, powerful suction, app control, and big capacities of dust and water, it has some other features I like so much. The first one is Auto Mop with Hot Water Washing, and this one is awesome. I have an old robot cleaner, it doesn’t have this cool feature. I usually use this for all areas, including the kitchen area, and you know the floor of kitchen has a little bit oil on top. My old one cannot clean that up totally. However, this one with basic mopping and hot water washing can effectively dissolve dirt, grime, sticky residues , and oily things on the floors. Besides that, its hot air drying feature kicks in to dry the mop pad and floor quickly. This prevents musty odors, bacterial growth, and water streaks, ensuring your floors are not only clean but also dry and hygienic. Thumbs up! 👍 Finally, it has advanced sensors to avoid obstacles, cleans in systematic patterns, and ensures no area is missed. My cats love to play with it, too. Recommend to have one to save your time for something else.

Works good for a short period
This thing worked awesome for the first 3 months. Have had this for about nine months, after three months it stopped mopping, so I thought if it just continues to vacuum, I will be okay with that. Then a month later, the vacuum stopped emptying the dust container, it was overflowing with dirt and pet hair, but the vacuum bag was totally empty. We cleaned this robot vacuum once a week including all sensor, so in other words, we took very good care of this. We tried for a couple of weeks, but the unit will not empty the dust bin anymore. Also, intermittently, it will be vacuuming and all the sudden it stops and will not go, it will vacuum in place, without moving an inch, I will put it back on docking station and the next week it will start to vacuum and all the sudden same thing, stops in place . We contacted Eureka through the support on the app, told them first about the unit not mopping anymore and they responded with a trouble shooting list, we did everything and it still will not mop, during testing through the app, the mop heads get wet so there is no clog, it is a software issue. We wrote and said the troubleshooting did not help and they never responded and have not to this day. When you spend a thousand dollars on a vacuum robot, you expect good quality, they should have had their engineers take this thing home and use it for 6 months before even thinking about selling to the public, from the other reviews, this thing seems to have some issues going on quite a bit. I wanted to tell my 1.2 million followers' good things about this robot vac but I will have to let them all know this thing is a pile of junk, I do not want other people getting a poor product.

Floors are always clean!
We have owned the robot for a few weeks now. We absolutely love it and our floors have never been cleaner. One reviewer mentioned that bags are not available. This has been resolved now and I purchased replacement consumables (bags, brushes and filter) from Eureka’s website. We have owned robotic vacuums before, but this is our first smart robotic vacuum. It is a game changer compared to the old non-smart devices. The app is very complete and easy to use. Our main floor is all hard wood with some tile. We set the schedule to vacuum and mop our floors twice per week. We run it in the evenings, so we wake up to nice, clean floors. The robot is quiet enough that we don’t really hear it when we go to bed upstairs. The app has “quiet hours”, so the base station does not automatically empty the robot’s dust bin if it finishes during quiet hours. I really like this feature because I like to manually empty the dust bin to see how much it collected (and it prolongs the life of the base station’s bags). We have a short haired cat and I am amazed at how much hair and dirt the vacuum collects from our floors. The mapping accuracy is very good. I took it to our upstairs area to clean. It interpreted the stairwell as a room and tried repeatedly to clean this area. The ledge protection worked well to save it from falling down the stairs. I have since blocked that area of the map as a no-go zone. The mop goes through more water than I expected. I usually refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty after each operation. It could probably make it through two cleanings, but it is easy enough to address it proactively. The amount of water the mops use is adjustable in the app and I find that near-minimum water level is sufficient to clean our floors really well. I’m very pleased that we purchased a robot with spinning mops (versus vibrating pads). I honestly don’t know how I could be happier with this robot. I feel like Eureka did a great job with the hardware and software. And I trust that Eureka will be around to support it in the future.

Overall - incredible
Okay so overall, I absolutely LOVE this robot vacuum and I definitely believe it’s worth the price. There have been some occasional frustrations, but I’ll get in to that below. It works exactly as it should and as it says, and is honestly a life changer! To start, the only other robot vac I’ve had was the shark 2 in 1 with self empty base. That thing sucked and was way more trouble than it was worth. Every single thing that made me hate that stupid thing, this one performs amazing on. It didn’t take more than a couple months before I actually had given up on it and just shelved the stupid thing. It was that bad. I bought a new construction home and have 2 very active dogs that go in and out as they please (doggie door). As you can imagine, the dirt and grass they track in ALL of the time is ridiculously drastic and nearly impossible to keep up with. Maintenance: So, I’m always making jokes (but somewhat serious) about believing this thing is bipolar and acts out if not given enough attention. I know it sounds crazy but it does not like to be neglected LOL. Don’t think that this one will be a leave it and forget it sort of thing. There are basic things you will need to do on a regular basis. If it’s been too long, there will be signs like performance or acting out. The water fill up is really a daily thing, but we have it mopping the whole house 2x a day. We also have it on the lowest sq ft setting for going back to wash the mops and have it cleaning the base station after each time. Compared to that shark though, that’s amazing since you could only do a little tiny area on a tank that you had to manually fill up every single time. I’d recommend actually washing the dirty water tank once a week as well because it can start getting kind of smelly. If you ever notice it’s not picking up stuff like it did/ was, always check under the brush roller. If that doesn’t solve it, check the filter. Dirt will stick to the foam part of the filter and cause less suction power/ performance issues if it gets too clogged. I keep these in rotation. Pull out the dirty one, rinse and clean the foam, put in a different one and let that one dry fully for next time. No more than a week really, but again our dirt issues are worse than most. You would be surprised at the things this will pick up though. Seriously. Some of the items it picks up are too big to make it through to the dust bin so it will just sit there clogging everything until removed. You will sometimes need to clean the mop cleaning tray. For the most part, it does it pretty well, but not perfect. I’ve had this about 3 months, and I’ve only had to do this 2x so far though. You will need to wipe down the robot at least every other day. I don’t get how this thing gets so dirty because it’s doing a great job at keeping our house clean (vacuuming 4x per day and mopping 2x). The house will be fine and it will be freshly wiped down. It runs and when it’s done will somehow look like it’s never been cleaned before. About every 1-2 weeks, I take out the brush roller and clean underneath it as well. Suction power is incredible. It really doesn’t pick up pretty much everything it passes over (as long as the filter and brush roller are clear). It really does pick up and handle the dog hair. One of my dogs is a husky. Those pesty husky hair balls are no longer creeping around every edge/ leg of everything in my house. Those things appear so quickly it’s not even funny but this fully handles it and I have no pet hair issues that I have to deal with when it comes to this. Battery life is incredible. It also charges very quickly. You can literally schedule this thing how you want and when you want for as many times of day as you want. The shark could only be scheduled to run one time per day and you’d have to manually run it the 2nd time. It would literally take that long to charge too. This one’s fully charged in about an hour. The mops really do well with mopping. It’s way heavier than the shark which probably helps with the mopping aspect as well. The shark just kind of smear crap, this one actually scrubs it up. I really like the dust bags. We fill them up quicker than it estimates, but again more of a mess. I still like it though. I feel like it helps with the longevity since that dirt isn’t getting in all the components inside of the entire base station. Less crap to have to clean as well. The shark had major issues with this. That base stations didn’t stand a chance against the dirt and was constantly clogged this one- no issues. The patrolling thing is pretty cool. You can also manually drive it in that mode (or chase your dogs with it). It’s harder than it looks though. I just wish there was an option to vacuum while doing that. It does take pictures of obstacles and does for the most part a really good job of identifying objects. It can be fun to click through the pictures because it gets some hilarious pictures of my dogs since they’re like always in its way. Frustrations: I recently didn’t run it for like a week due to having furniture moved around and a lot of packages/ things I was assembling all of the place. So it really wouldn’t have been able to run. It had run out of water and was in that error state and I just kinda left it until it was cleaned up enough again. Well, when I went to run it, I had so many freaking issues and really got pissed off lol it wouldn’t/ couldn’t find its base station to return to and for some reason kept ending up on the other side of the house where it wasn’t even supposed to be. Turns out I kept getting some connection issue with the base station. I detail cleaned everything and wiped all the sensors and kept getting the same issue. I was so upset. I even did all of the resets and everything to keep reconnecting but it kept happening. On day 3, it miraculously fixed itself though and has been working fine ever since. It’s almost like the wheels have their own suction with how much crap gets stuck underneath them. If your dog shreds a toy and pulls out the stuffing without you knowing and the vacuum goes in there, just go ahead and check the wheels because it will be clogged with that stuffing. It sometimes has a hard time getting up on a basic pile rug with a pad under it, but yet it can off road itself up over any dog toy in its path including bones. That confuses me. The emotional thing lol it’s almost like if you aren’t picking it up and checking on it, it gets itself into issues to error out so you have to. For instance, a fan base that it never bothers, it will ramp up that base and get stuck saying it’s suspended in the air- but only if I haven’t checked on it in a couple of days. Take out the brush roller and peek and it acts normal again. Freakin weird. lol

### Updated Review: Eureka J15 – A Redemption Story (5 Stars) After nearly returning my Eureka J15, I decided to take a step back and conduct a more thorough investigation into its performance issues. Initially, I believed the underbelly of the vacuum was clean, but upon closer inspection, I discovered it was completely clogged with a cat toy. This human error was the root cause of the poor edge-cleaning performance I had experienced. So, a word to the wise: if your J15 isn’t performing as promised, dig deeper into potential issues before writing it off. To put the J15’s capabilities into perspective, I had previously purchased a comparable Shark robot vacuum, which I only used in vacuum mode. After resolving the clog in the J15, I realized that the Eureka far surpasses the Shark, especially in its AI-driven features. The J15’s cleaning performance is now exceptional, and I’ve made it a habit to regularly check the underbelly (debris compartment) to ensure it remains obstruction-free. What truly sets the J15 apart is its impressive array of features. The software and app are highly customizable, allowing me to tailor the cleaning experience to my home’s unique needs. I also love the built-in lights, which enhance visibility and add a touch of flair. The AI is nothing short of top-notch—unlike other robot vacuums I’ve tried, the J15 navigates flawlessly, never crashing into walls or getting stuck. The camera feature is another highlight, enabling me to monitor its progress throughout my home in real time, which is both practical and fun. Ultimately, the J15 has won me over. It offers an incredible amount of functionality through its app, and its cleaning performance, once the clog was cleared, is outstanding. I now confidently give it five stars, as it delivers exceptional value and innovation for the price. --- ### Original Review: Eureka J15 – Initial Disappointment (2 Stars) Is anyone else noticing the subpar performance of the Eureka J15? I wanted to love this vacuum—I really did—but my initial experience left much to be desired. Transitioning from a flat living room carpet to hardwood floors, the vacuum seemed to scatter debris everywhere. Every time it encountered a rug or a slight bump, it struggled to lift properly, leaving messes behind instead of cleaning them up. Then, a new issue arose, which gave me further pause. After a planter tipped over, we cleaned up most of the dry dirt and let the robot vacuum the area twice. At first glance, it appeared to do an adequate job. However, when I followed up with my plug-in vacuum, I could hear dirt still being sucked out of the carpet, indicating the J15 had missed a significant amount. Given these experiences, I began to question whether the J15 was worth its price tag. Disappointed and unimpressed, I seriously considered returning it. My plan was to try a different brand to see if another model might handle transitions between rooms and floor types more effectively, without spreading debris in the process. Sorry, Eureka—I had high hopes, but this vacuum initially fell short.
