PC it may not be, fresh food its not - but sorry it's great
Ah, Vesta Chow Mein the culinary time capsule that transports you back to the 1970s faster than a DeLorean with a flux capacitor! If you've ever wondered what the future tasted like in 1978, let me introduce you to this powdered delight. Vesta Chow Mein is not just a meal; it's a commitment to experiencing history. The Preparation Making Vesta Chow Mein is like participating in an ancient ritual that involves adding water, waiting, and hoping. You’re instructed to pour the contents into a pan, add precisely measured water (or wing it like a maverick), and let it bubble away. As the aroma fills your kitchen, it’s as if someone bottled up a sweet-and-sour memory of the past and unleashed it in your home. The Taste Test Imagine, if you will, the bold, exotic flavours of Chinatown... and then imagine the complete opposite. Yes, Vesta Chow Mein is like the British interpretation of Chinese cuisine, where the spiciest thing on the menu is still less intimidating than a cucumber sandwich. The flavour is delightfully confused—sweet, savoury, vaguely reminiscent of soy sauce, and completely unapologetic. It’s as if someone in a Vesta laboratory thought, “What if chow mein, but... for people who think black pepper is too daring?” But let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: the **crispy noodles**. These delightful little crunchies are packaged separately to sprinkle on top of your chow mein like a final flourish. I must say, they’re the best part. You know your meal has reached its pinnacle when the crunchy garnish outshines the main event. The Nostalgia Factor For those who remember eating Vesta meals back in the day, it’s not just a food product—it’s a **time machine**. Each bite is like a postcard from a time when microwaves were new, disco ruled the dance floors, and instant meals were considered the height of culinary convenience. It’s the dinner equivalent of a pair of flared jeans: retro, ridiculous, and somehow still endearing. However, for the uninitiated—say, anyone under the age of 40—Vesta Chow Mein might taste less like nostalgia and more like a salty, sweet enigma. It’s definitely an acquired taste, like Marmite The Final Verdict Vesta Chow Mein is not a meal. It’s an **experience**, a relic from a time when people truly believed powdered sauce packets were the future of gastronomy. Sure, it may not taste like authentic Chinese cuisine (or any cuisine, really), but it’s a culinary love letter to an era that dared to dream. A meal where you can close your eyes, take a bite, and feel like you’re sitting on a shag carpet, watching black-and-white TV while your dad tries to fix the rabbit ears. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. But only if you’re looking for a taste of history... I just wish they would return with the Prawn curry version.

Cheaper than Chinese
Bought multi pack of the product. Used to buy it many years ago but the range seemed to disappear from the shelves. Saw it in supermarket and bought it. Taste and volume has remained the same. Enjoyable and tasty and is cheaper than an actual Chinese and just enough to fill the gap.
