No Instructions how to use it
There were no instructions. The tube came inside an amazon box. From the reviews, I gathered you have to massage it into the beard and leave it for 5 minutes. The tube doesn't close well, it leaks out and stains everything around. What kind of a company will sell a product without instructions? I didn't use it because I cannot trust a company that sells without instructions on how to use it. There were some printed letters on the tube itself but they were not instructions. I just tossed it in the garbage. Waste of money. It may be a good product but I wouldn't use it.

Not a hit
I wanted this to work so bad and when I used it, it turned my beard army green. I had to shave it off due to everyone at work, asking why I had spinach on my face. Didn’t work for me turn my dark blonde beard to spinach army green

It works, but be careful...
The pros: This does cover the gray hair in my beard. At first I didn't realize you need to leave it sit for 5min, the instructions were a little blurry on my tube. Leave it, and my grays turn more blond. I have a tricolor beard with blond, brown and red, so this works great. For me, I had no sensitivity or reaction from this product, and I generally have pretty sensitive skin. I did follow the instructions and did a "test" on my skin before fully using. I have not noticed any adverse smells, as others have noted. The cons: It will stain a white shower insert. I left the tube on our shelf of our shower, which is one of those tub with 3 walls made out of Vikrell (not tile, more like a plastic), and it left a yellow ring I am unable to get out. I've tried bath cleaner, Dawn, baking soda and Dawn, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, you name it). Be careful. Also, mine doesn't "foam" as the instructions indicate so it just goes on, and it looks dark, like black - it has not dyed my hair this dark, thankfully. Also, when my beard is trimmed (using a 7mm guard) some of my skin shows and it can stain the skin - same with hands, and I haven't figured out the best way to combat this other than to NOT use it as a beard wash, but rather just apply to the hair of my beard rather than rub it in, if that makes sense. Also, if I rub it in, the product tends to "fling" on my tub walls. As long as I immediately wash it off the walls, it won't stain, so it's the sitting that causes yellow marks I can't get out. I cannot fathom using this at the sink, it'd make a mess. In short, it works, and it doesn't smell, at least not for me. I personally like the beard conditioner from this brand a little more, but it doesn't have the same effect as this beard wash. The coloration is lighter, but with less of the cons. Just be careful, as it stains more than just beard hair! Also, wash your hands immediately after applying!

Green?
I had naturally brown hair and beard that is going gray. The other brand never colored the gray around the edges of the beard, so I bought this to try. I went with the lighter color hoping for light brown. However, after a couple of days of use, I got a color that had a green tinge to it in direct light. Unfortunately, I can't use that, so I tossed it and am going back to the Just for Men. Also, the product is super dark and sticky. I recommend using gloves to apply it to your beard. I always did, so I don't know if the product would stain my hands or not. It did NOT stain my face around the beard, however. I would not recommend the light color.

Stay away from the light colored wash vs dark
The light/brown color gave my beard a reddish /purple color and if you don’t work hard to get it off your cheeks and neck it will leave a stain but for some reason the dark colored beard dye works great .

Something has gone terribly wrong with this product
I've used this for several months and always liked it, I even subscribed to get it delivered monthly. But the last bottle I received is awful, and nothing like previous bottles. The dye inside is dark purple, it takes a couple of minutes of washing with soap just to get the purple stain off my fingers. And yes, that same purple dye stuck to the skin on my face, and made my facial hair look weird - some hairs were very dark, others not at all - it looked terrible. I spent the next 20 minutes with a bleach solution and q-tips trying to get it off my face and mustache. There are other reviews that say the same thing - very inconsistent. I'm cancelling my subscription and will not use again, unless someone from the company can explain what has happened and assure that quality control is in place going forward.

Wear gloves. Works well.
Wear gloves. Don’t believe what you’ve read and heard. It will stain in your hands big time. Use a dime size amount. Product comes out of tube very fast. It works extremely well. Does not stink like just for men or leave you with the feeling of a bunch of chemicals on your skin. Again, wear gloves.

Turned my beard purple
This one will turn your hair PURPLE!, that lat tone I ordered was great, then became unavailable. So, I ordered this and it is not the brown, light brown, blonde, or whatever most would call a "light shade". This is a light shade of brick red maybe.
