Super bright! Very sturdy make and feel. Serious use only!
I don't have the means to measure lumens, but this claims 3500 and it's no joke how bright this is! Low & Medium are brighter than my much cheaper 1,xxx lights, High is just stunning. You had better be serious when deciding to use high mode! Reflections off of any nearby bright colored object will leave any looker seeing spots. I don't foresee anyone looking into the high beam. The beam pattern is good, though in a typical backyard even the wider spread portion of the beam will wake the neighbors. Showing it to people, they're wowed at first - on low. This will never be my only carry light - it's simply too bright (and a bit large & heavy) for my 1st choice. It's best used when you either need to seriously light up a scene, or need to throw light at a distance - it excels at that! The head gets very warm to the touch quickly on high mode. The on/off button has just the right amount of effort. The rubberized grip is perfect. I desire changes to the modes and implementation: The speed at which you must momentarily partially depress the switch is too strict (too fast) to change modes. Like others, I wish you could choose more options - high/med/low + the only available low/med/high. Or better, low/high/med as an added choice. I have no use for high/strobe/low now high only. 10 tap programming is finicky, fortunately not something I change often. A maglight "D-cell" ring style belt holster/loop fits perfectly. I've not found a good, solid piece holster yet. So far, I've been pleased with battery life with the included Streamlight 18650's. I thought I had used the light quite a bit, but my recharger only put back in a few hundred mAh. My very casual observation is the 1.25 Hr. on time in high is underrated - that might be with continuous use on high; with low and medium to use, battery life isn't as scary. The included batteries recharged evenly and without fuss. I'll likely never use the USB charging cord; it would give portability for charging, but I'll have fresh ones on hand - if I'm out of power, I won't have 5 Hrs. to wait for 2 batteries. I have much better chargers. I never want to run out of power, so purchased some ORBTRONIC 3400mAh cells based on good reviews. They fit fine and should provide longer runtimes. Looking into the battery compartment, you can see how extra thick the flashlight wall is! The switch/tailcap is o-ring sealed and has plenty of threads to secure it. It screws in with perfect feel. The spring is stout enough to keep the batteries in firm contact. I have not tested its durability (and hope not to), but it sure feels and seems very solid. IIRC, the head unscrews, potentially allowing for lens replacement. I don't anticipate needing to use it underwater, but it is bound to get wet sometime, so it's comforting to know that shouldn't be an issue. There is no provision for mounting this to any apparatus.

Great Light - Worth It
The light is very well-built and seems tight overall. The build is what makes the light feel substantial. If your hands are a little bigger, you'll probably notice (at first) that the light feels just a bit small, but the quality of the light makes it worth adjusting your grip a smidge. Its best qualities are the brightness and range of this light. It's pretty impressive. I'd say it's bright enough to be used effectively (more or less) in a lighted area, which was more than I expected. - I have not used the programming functions. I'll probably try them, but I'll only be running this light on bright with the rechargeable Streamlight batteries. - I wish it came with a sleeve, but getting the pigtail charge cable is a solid trade because the batteries do take a full five hours to charge. Yep, you have to remove the batteries to charge them, but that doesn't bother me so much as it may others. I guess that would be at top of my wish list for improvements, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice quality to have it - and there's always some taking with the giving. - There's no manual beam adjustment, but that's not this light's intended use. It's built to be rugged and bright, period. If that's what you're after, go ahead and spend the money.

Finally, a bright, reliable, adjustable flashlight with good high power battery life
I live near Lake Erie. At the end of the property above the lake there is a 1/3 mile long winding path from the edge of the property to the lake front along a creek. I need a bright, durable, dirt proof and water resistant flashlight because it's incredibly dark at night on the path to the lake. I've researched all brands of flashlights and have owned a wide variety of brands from the cheap 2 for $20 Amazon "specials" to $50 Mag Lights to a $100 Sure Fire flashlight. None of them have met my requirements and I've ruined all of them over time. I spent hours researching hand held lights and saw this model in one of the reviews. Here's why this particular light meets my needs: -LONG battery life on high beam, over 2 hours at 4200 lumens with the rechargeable batteries over an hour at 3200 lumens with Lithium 123 batteries. Some of the other high end lights like Olight that have 2-3 minutes on high beam with their OEM rechargeable batteries. -"Dual fuel" - this light can use four 123 lithium batteries or the OEM rechargeable batteries. The 123's aren't as bright as the OEM rechargeable batteries but they still provide excellent output while the other batteries are recharging. See the photo - the 123's are NOT included but they are readily available, cheap, last 10 years on a shelf and are excellent back up batteries -Dirt and sand proof, water resistant. I read a 1 star review whining about the lack of an external USB charging port and having to charge the batteries instead. That is actually a strong positive for me. An external USB port provides a very vulnerable entry point for dirt and water and the rubber USB port covers ALWAYS come loose and vanish. Recall that I'm using this light on a beach at night and the moisture and sand have killed many other lights in short order. -Top rate machining. This Streamlight torch is well made. The threads are precisely cut, it uses a silicone O ring on the batter cap and the switch also has a silicone cover - see the close up photos. -Three "ten tap" settings. You can change the light settings with ten button pushes to either High, Strobe, Low, High, medium and low or high only -Lower cost than most premium flashlights that allows for the purchase of 2 extra OEM rechargeable batteries that are readily available with Prime shipping that make this light the same price as many other lights with just 2 rechargeable batteries Areas of improvement: -It could use a "lockout" button so the light cannot be accidentally activated in a back pack or day pack Overall, this Streamlight model has met all my needs in tough conditions that include constant exposure to sand, dirt, moisture and water. Hope this helps!

Its streamlight… what else is there to say
Does good. Rather bright, medium ish throw distance, but it is on the bigger side. Somewhere between 2d and 3 d cell maglites, kind in the middle length wise. Head diameter is as or bigger. Body diameter is smaller-smaller batteries. Comes with dual connection cord, no block. Can speak on runtime. Does get warm if on for a few. Rubber grip texture on body ic tachy but not too grippy. Will catch on a shirt if worn on hip. No included sheath. Got it as a house light and thats its best purpose. Too big for daily carry, unless car carrying. I have much more expensive and brighter, but for the price versus competition in price range, id buy it first, again over others. Just keep in mind it is on the bigger size and not a edc/pocket or even hip carry type.

THIS FLASHLIGHT IS the BOMB DIGGITY
i gave up all of my Maglite flash lights as they called for the clunky C & D batteries and the light bulbs just don't seem to be as bright as the ones they make today.... I had a friend who came over with this flash light & I was looking for my cat in a tree when th esun had just gone down! The Flashlight WAS ON STEROIDS WITH BRIGHTNESS! The light was strong enough for 60 ft up a tree and it shined over 3/4 of an acre across my property... i live in Florida so this will be perfect for Hurricane outages-- Super stoked!! I ordered mine the next day even though it was steep in price....it was a no brainer!! TOTALLY WORTH IT!! and my friend said the charge lasts a LONG TIME... it came charged too!!

Incredibly bright with some flaws
It is incredibly bright, takes 2 sources of power, has sturdy chassis. But when unscrewing the bottom to recharge the batteries the squeaking is the worst noise like worse than babies crying or chalk across the chalkboard. Also the battery life isn't accurate. If you use it for short bursts over months it seems to not get even close to the hours of life it promises. I use it maybe 5 times a month for less than 5 minutes each and in 2-3 months it needs recharging. Finally the rubber gripper is nailed down (slides side to side but not down and off) but this could b for repiarability, I am dubious for the long termness of that gripper, I hope they spent money for rubber side grips that don't melt at year 10. If you need an excellent flashlight, it is worth the cost if you can pay it, its not some disposable dud like you get at the store, this is a real flashlight and it is bright, but I hope to see improvements with their next iterations. Pay for the dual fuel version for peace of mind.
