ELAC A4.2 Debut 2.0 Dolby Atmos Speakers

If you set these great spearkers up correctly you will great great sound from them, this my second set of these 2 on top of my tower speakers, also 2 set on top of my rear speaker as these give you a greater depth sound field just as it should be if you use them iin the correct manner as they were intended to be, my system now goes like this, 2 tower speakers with 2 of these Dolby atmos on top of them, 2 10inch subwoofers 2 side speakers 1 central speaker 2 rear speakers with 2 more of Dolby atmos on top of them, I most certainly would recommend these Dolby atmos speakers, if you buy any Dolby atmos speakers PLEASE REMEMBER TO RESET BY RE-CALABRATING YOUR SOUND SYSTEM TO BRING OUT THE BEST OF YOUR SYSTEM, ITS A FACT THAT YOU MUST DO THIS WITH ANY SPEAKERS THAT YOU ADD ANYWAY OTHER WISE THEY WILL NOT BE SET CORRCTLY OK, I HAVE ADDED THIS STATEMENT BECAUSE I NOTICED A COULPE OFF REVIEWS SAYING THEY DONT WORK PROPERLY I JUST HAVE A FEELING THEY FOR FORGOT TO RESET AND RECALIBRATE THEIR SOUND SYSTEM AFTER ADDING EXTRA SPEAKERS THATS A COMMON MISTAKE.

Great sound from a Dolby atoms speakers and Great value

Nice solid design but can’t say they add the definitive extra Atmos soundfield and am convinced Atmos is for the big boys only. I have a full 7.1 Denon amp with all the bells and whistles but am struggling to hear any audio improvement. I don’t blame the speakers! I just think you”d need to spend serious money to get the full effect.

Disappointed and returned

It's hard to describe what these add to the experience other than adding more of a feeling of "presence". Most of the time they are sat there, idling. When they really kick in is during scenes with atmospheric sounds. I'm talking about being in the rain, in a jungle or up in the mountains. It really feels like you are "there" rather than watching it, if that makes any sort of sense....

Speakers are great. When you watch Atmos movies, the height effect is usually subtle. There are a few scenes per movie where you actually point excitedly to the screen/speakers and shout to your wife "did you hear the sound from the ceiling?". Apart from pure height sounds it can add a lot to the immersion - "Avatar The the way of water" rain scene or "Untamed" episode 1 where the birds songs seem to surround you from 360 degreed. Then I switched to games - Battlefield 6 open beta last weekend and...OH BOY! When the fighter jets fly over, I swear it feels like they were actually flying over my head. I litarary looked up the first few times in disbelief. So...dont read too much specialist reviews. Go ahead, buy them, calibrate them (then boost manually by a few decibels) and enjoy the feeling

I bought two pairs of the ELAC when I bought my Marantz SR6015 AV Receiver. The Marantz has enough channels to support Dolby Atmos speakers front and rear. The speakers creates a wider and spacious soundfield when watching movies encoded with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X soundtracks in 4K blu-rays. I think it is money well spent.

I purchased these as I was after a budget version of Atmos speakers but still had the features I needed. These speakers are perfect for the person who does not want to mount ceiling height speakers or lives in rental accommodation. Easy to set up as any good speakers are. Make sure you use decent cabling and of even lengths to maintain balance. The extra sound from these is quite exceptional and they are rated as 6ohm so matched in well with my 7.1.2 system
