Magnet stronger than I thought, machine body not full metal.
At first I thought the magnet did not stick. But I was wrong. As it turns out, my old sewing machine body must be made of some sort of composite. When I tried the magnet on the sewing area that actually looks like metal, it stuck very strongly. As a matter of fact, I bought two of them and when I put them together, I could hardly get them apart. When I did, one magnet was pulled out of one and stuck down in the other and I can’t get it out. But it still works anyway.

I absolutely love this tool! The magnet is very strong. Helps guide fabric (cruise control for a sewing machine) if you will. Great deal and quality!

Discovered I didn't need them.
They are as advertised; however, I discovered they aren't really necessary because my machine, like most others have seam guides built in. I am new to sewing so I bought these as they sounded like something I would need. I used them once and found they were just in the way and haven't used them since.

Unstable as a guide unless you have a lot of medal on the bed of your machine.
This item does not stay in place for a 5/8th setting. It did not have enough metal to stay positioned and migrated to 3/8th. I had to rip out all the stitches I sewed.
