FiiO SR11 Desktop Streaming Music Receiver (Black)

Works brilliantly as a Roon endpoint. I have this set up with the Fiio K11 R1R dac/amp and I’m very happy with the sound quality through my headphones. No issues with stability, rock solid connection over WiFi. Recommended.

Excellent digital transport. It takes AirPlay 1 and Roon streams and send them out over USB, optical or COAX to a DAC. Since these bitstreams are "perfect" then it does just as good a job as any more expensive devices - of which there are many that cost thousands. The sound you get will be defined by the DAC, amplifier, speakers, interconnects, room layout and your ears but not this. Only downside for me is that it is AirPlay 1 rather than 2 so you can only do multiroom with Roon.

On Airplay the sound is just OK. On Roon I got excellent detail, resolution and overal high sound quality. Unfortunatelly still no DLNA on official firmware, alternative one sent by FIIO does not work as intended yet.

Build feels firm for its money. But it doesn't work. Airplay doesnt want to connect even when it is coupled to my wifi. I can't update, tried 3 different USB sticks, reformatted them several times and only had the zipped and unzipped files on it. Always Fail. Can't talk about bluetooth or other options because I can't update it! Needs to go again.

Waiting for my order today.. but the device doesn't have Bluetooth, I hope somebody interested will get better informed about it

Na de update naar v630, via DLNA (en waar ik geen fan van ben Airplay) te gebruiken. Voor mijn Hi-end set is het onvoldoende (kan ook niet voor dat geld, maar functioneert. Stuur hem niet terug, hangt nu aan een Cambridge versterker met USB DAC. Prima. Kan het iedereen aanbevelen. Minder ruis etc mee de DAC in (en dus ook uit) tegenstelling tot de laptops, die klinken allemaal anders en allemaal bagger.
