I got this when my wife had her hip replaced. It works great and produces lots of ice. Since we are on a well, I got the ice machine cleaner which I had to use about every week and a half. The water bottle adapter is for a smaller bottle you have to purchase and is kind of useless in my opinion, just fill the reservoir and let it go. This will not keep the ice cold it has made, so you will need to empty it, but it does have a lift out try to empty it into another try then put in the freezer. Great for parties if you are making or pouring drinks, it will keep up with most instances.

My hubs LOVES Sonic ice! He craves it! There are a few other restaurants and places that have it and when he finds a place, he always gets an extra cup to munch on it. I've been looking for years to find a counter top ice maker that produces it and for years I could only find the original standalone machine that costs thousands. When people started producing counter top versions, the reviews weren't great. Recently, after several years, I decided to revisited this quest. I found hope in the newer machines that looked like they were getting closer. After pouring over reviews and descriptions, I decided on finally buying him this one for Christmas this year. I'm happy to report: The cubes are the perfect size for crunching! He says it could be just a tad more "watery" (whatever that means -- it's ice -- isn't it naturally watery?? -- But I'm not as fanatical about rabbit poop ice as he is), but he says "it is pretty darn close" and he loves it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The machine produced ice almost instantly. I was impressed by how fast it worked. It's footprint on the counter is about the size of a normal-sized coffee maker. Our knife block with the knives stands taller than this machine. So it doesn't take up much space as I thought it would. The water capacity is pretty decent: it makes about 2 tumblers full of ice -- or 1 32oz convenient store plastic cups -- we'll have to experiment with making extra to store in the freezer but so far hes eating them as fast as its making them 😆 The quality of the machine is mostly plastic but seems sturdy and good. The loudness is not more than the exhaust fan on the stove, but as mentioned it doesn't take long for ice to be produced, so the machine doesn't run long. Over all, this was a great buy!! 👍

Update! I had this ice maker for just over a year and it died. It had become noisy and then stopped working altogether right after the year mark. I loved it when it worked. I have had this almost a year and no one uses the fridge ice maker anymore. This ice is that perfect crunchy ice that everyone is looking for. I couldn't see paying a huge price for a countertop ice maker when I technically had an ice maker in the fridge. This one has been great. It was easy to use and setup was basically wash it out, plug it in, and fill it up. We have well water so I buy those big jugs of water at Costco to fill it. The price was great, it makes ice in about 6-7 minutes, and the ice is exactly what I wanted. The downside is that it has started to be noisy. I clean it, use bottled water, and It has plenty of space around the machine for air flow. I am hoping that it continues to function. I also wish it was a larger capacity because everyone in my house now takes "mom's ice." However, I hate clutter and appliances on my countertop so for the size of the machine it does make a decent amount.

Love love love this ice maker! No more cracking ice trays. Makes ice quickly. Easy to operate. Little noise, sounds like grandmas old refrigerator. Sound doesn’t bother. I use filtered water to cut down on cleaning and descaling. Does 44lbs. Of ice in 24 hours. High quality machine.

Worked well for about 6 months until it started leaking water out of the bottom. It just pours out water and no longer makes ice. If you’re okay with taking a risk, it looks nice on the counter, holds a good bit of ice, and was easy to use, refill and clean. But it’s not going to last long and it costs way too much to be spending that every 6 months. **Updated to 4 stars for customer service: I reached out to the company with a warranty claim and they replaced the ice maker with a new model. Will update if I have any additional issues.

Not the fastest maker, but you get solid cubes. Perfect for keeping your drink cold and not water them down like the hollow cone shaped cubes. I can't say how long the unit will last, but we will see. It is also on the louder side of ice makers. But if you have a gathering and want to keep ice flowing, you won't notice it anyway.

While the ice itself isn't bad once you put it in the freezer, the machine has a flaw in how the ice falls into the bin. In all cases the ice falls down in one large chunk (see pics). In many of those cases because it falls straight down and doesn't break up, after 1 or 2 batches the ice chunk triggers the sensor that the ice bin is full and stops until the ice melts, but it's not really full, its just blocked by the ice chunk. So you get 1 batch of ice or maybe 2 and then it stops. I also noticed the ice melts pretty soon after putting it in water, but most machines do anyway so that's expected from small pieces of ice. What had me return it, in addition to the machine stopping because of the ice chunks, was when I didn't need ice for a couple days and then went to use it and when I went to use it the inside of the machine smelled like dirty socks, a stale mildewy kind of smell. Not what I would expect after only a couple days of the water sitting in the machine. For the price these 2 things should not be an issue, so sorry but had to return it.

I deliberately bought expensive ice maker to assure I get quality. It arrived, I opened it. Not working! No ice but water. From second it was on. Too expensive for such a disappointment. Please replace.
