Amazing product
My boyfriend loves this sander. It is perfect for his wood projects and contains the mess really well! Super easy to change out the sandpaper too.

It's all about how you hold it.
Seriously, its all about how you hold the tool as to its ergonomics. Most of the less than positive reviews of this tool are related to it being rather un-cumbersome. I come from a background where all of my DA's were air driven, with a rigid and cumbersome air hose, and controls on the top of the body. Those tools as well as this were/are much more accurate and user friendly when gripped "at the shank", meaning not on the top, but on the body. Unfortunately I would have to use two hands to run an air tool from its shank. Take this tool and point the exhaust away from you, and grasp it low on the body. You will still have easy access to the motor controls, albeit with different fingers. You will now also have both better control of the tool, less fatigue, and a better finish pattern on your product. Remember, the final finish with any DA is all about proper and even surface contact of the paper with the product. A constant assessment of the stature "i.e.: debris build up on the paper" is important as well to achieve a high quality finish. Dirty, Clogged, Fouled, sand paper leads to scratches and streaks in the final product. I have three of these tools and just ordered a fourth. Rather than take the time to change a grit during a project, I just grab another tool(permanently labeled as to its grit). When the paper of whichever tool/grit gets dull, I will then change it out. For a finish carpenter like myself, these tools are a time saver, a welcomed addition to my arsenal, and have an orbit pattern suited well for wood. Very rarely do I sand one grit continuously for more than a few minutes at a time, so I never really notice battery fade with these tools, though I would dare say that the lower grits 60 -80 more than likely may use more juice, which is to be expected. When I started my carpentry business, I knew that I would have to select one platform and run with it. I have peers that have selected other platforms with great success, but my personal history and that of a few of my employees with the steadfastness and life longevity of Milwaukee tools steered me to them. So far, I am not disappointed. With easily 30k of Milwaukee cordless tools and accessories, I have to say that when I show up in the morning at any given jobsite, I can feel pretty confident that my team and I will make it through the day without mishap due to tool failure. This sander doesn't fail and I expect that she and her sisters will still be with me for many years to come. Good luck, and remember, it's okay to think outside the box.

Milwaukee never fails to impress.
Milwaukee M18 fuel system tools are my go to when a job needs to get done. I included before and after on a beach house porch paint job that had 80 years of old paint on it and this sander handled it easily. It is not loud at all and can be used easily all day. Dust collection works well or it can be directed down to a drop cloth with the multiple attachments. It is great to have the options. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed and power on even low settings. Great sander.

I prefer this to any air sander
Works great and beats the heck out of an air sander in terms of convenience.

I use this most days in the workshop of my small furniture making business. It’s one of those tools that now I couldn’t do without. Great power and build quality that you would expect from Milwaukee. Can burn through the battery life on 4ah battery’s. But as I only use Milwaukee tools I always have spare battery’s on charge. But definitely thumbs up from me.

We are renovating and I got the cabinet refinish job, this sander has made a painful job easier. Works well, not too heavy ( I have small hands), battery lasts way longer than I want it to.
