If you are looking for a crazy fast AA or AAA battery charger that is portable and only requires a USB-C power connection then this is the one you want to get hands down. As a photographer my flashes just eat AA batteries like there is no tomorrow and having to flip out batteries is very common and this solves my issue of keeping fully charged batteries on hand. As I go though one set of batteries the others are charging from a USB-C power bank so I can be as portable as possible. The screen tells me a wealth of information about the batteries, from temperature to state of charge in mega Ohms and how much time it spent on charging the battery so that I know exactly how long it takes. The screen isn’t directly a touch, but the three small dots on the side of the screen enables you select the charging slot and see the current charging status as well as graphing out the charging profile which is a very nice touch. This is a very high quality charger that I know keep in my equipment bag so it is with me at all times when I take the rest of my equipment.

This battery charger does give me all the options I have always wanted for my rechargeable batteries; however, it just seems like the UI could've easily been designed to function much simpler than it is. 5 stars for functionality, which is by far the most important to me, but I can't give it more than 2 stars for the UI and how tedious configuring the settings is. If I were able to give 3.5 stars, I would.

When first plugged into power, plays a little tune. Display is easy to read. The three dots to the right of the display are the touch controls. Works most of the time, but will sometimes not register a touch.I loaded up all slots with Nimh low self discharge (LSD) batteries for refreshing. Each of the slots has a light above the slot indicating status (yellow-charging, green-charged). On the left side of the display is a column which shows the state of each battery. I like how it shows the charge state of all slots at a glance. As each battery finishes charging, two tones are played (can be turned off in options).Once charging of all batteries are completed, the charger will stay on so that you can look over the battery charging history. This may not be the case when using a portable battery as a power source, as the portable battery may shut off the usb ports when current draw drops below a certain level.
