These replaced a 20+ yr old set of rubber gripped Marcy threaded dumbbells with peeling chrome that started slicing my fingers open during weight changes. The grip diameter is a little small and the length of the knurled area could be a little shorter to make room for more weights. Otherwise, these are a solid option. Even when they are fully loaded and the star lockers can't be fully threaded, the weights feel secure. There are tiny flecks of chrome falling off the threads when spinning the lockers on and off, but not enough to be concerning. Overall, a good value for the price point.

Well made , the fasteners work well , loose enough so that they go on quickly but tight enough to hold the plates on securely. The rubber handle looks like it'll hold up well all in all a good product for the price.
