I bought the OBAGE Essential -5 2.1 Home Theatre System in October 2024, and it immediately made a strong impression. The vocals are crystal clear, and the bass is perfectly balanced—neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. This makes it ideal for long listening sessions, whether you're enjoying 90s hits, ghazals, or the latest chart-toppers. This speaker shines with peaceful and sometimes peppy music, but it's not designed for loud, booming sound. The build quality is impressive for a system in this price range. The wooden construction of both the subwoofer and satellite speakers adds a premium feel, making it hard to believe it's priced below ₹4,000. Setting up the OBAGE Essential -5 was incredibly straightforward. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time. The HDMI ARC connection is a fantastic addition, seamlessly integrating with my TV setup. The sound quality excels for podcasts and music, offering clear vocals and balanced bass. While movie watching is decent, it’s the musical experience where this system truly shines. The remote control is functional and meets all expectations. It handles all necessary functions effectively without any issues. One of the main reasons I bought this set was for Bluetooth listening, and it did not disappoint. The range is impressive, allowing me to play music from another room without any connectivity issues. Although it would be great if it supported connecting two devices simultaneously, that's a minor quibble. After a month of use, I encountered an issue with the left satellite speaker producing a muffled and cracking sound. I promptly shared a video of the problem with OBAGE customer care. They were incredibly responsive, observed the issue, and sent a replacement satellite speaker within 10 days. Their excellent customer service truly won me over. The video I uploaded was from a single speaker that was working fine. It was recorded when I sent the video to OBAGE customer care. Overall, the OBAGE Essential -5 2.1 Home Theatre System is a fantastic choice for those seeking clear, balanced sound for long listening sessions. Just keep in mind its limitations when it comes to loud, booming music. Considering its features—like HDMI ARC, digital bass and treble control, and excellent customer service—this home theatre system offers exceptional value for money.

I had an issue with the remote, within a month of purchase. It was not responding to the unit. I replaced the batteries and found that the device became non responsive. Issue was with the woofer system. I called Obage on their only customer care number that's always busy. Finally got through the person and shared the video where the remote doesn't work and the unit showing popping sounds. He agreed to send me a replacement woofer. I got a refurbished unit that looks like its been on someone's shelf before being sent to me. Could see scratches and dirt. There's still that popping sound and remote works. There's no safety labeling nor anything on it that shows okay tested. Sounds a bit less in bass and treble compared to the original device. Bass seems non existent now. As an audiophile, I'm very disappointed with this purchase. I made a big mistake. I went with these YouTube videos. This is Not 100w as advertised because even my Zebronics 60w has better sound than this. Obviously this isn't going to last and I will not be shopping any electronics on this platform ever again. The video is of the old product that stopped being responsive. The images/ photos are of the refurbished product that was sent. Complete waste of money. Invest in Sony or Panasonic, but buy directly from shop.

Before starting my review I would like to thank Team Obage for the sincere efforts they put in for designing this 4.1 home theatre system. I am writing this review after seven days of listening music on the system covering a lot of genres like classical, ghazals, Bollywood, folk, Sufi , Punjabi, Bengali, instrumental, fusion, rock, western, etc also tested the system in a lot of different other ways and believe me I am absolutely mesmerised by its sound effect. In other words I would say it’s a wonder or sublime, it is a complete music system that all true music lovers should possess. I myself have Sony, JBL, Panasonic music systems, but can bet on it that Obage can easily compete with these renowned brands. I am a professional singer and a guitarist as well so you can trust my ears, and since my childhood I am very fussy about sound and acoustics, so I know the definition of “pure sound” and I am getting exactly the same from Obage HT101, I’m absolutely amazed by the sweetness of this machine and needless to say Obage has a signature sound which is melodious, perfect and soothing for years, ideal for long hours of listening music. When I listen to songs in Obage HD101, I feel like I am in a live concert where each and every effect is crystal clear and the best thing is I can hear each and every instrument included in the accompaniment for any particular song and can very clearly distinguish them, like guitar, violin, piano, Santoor, Percussion, tabla, flute, dholak, kick drums, Octopad, saxophone, bass Guitar and so on and obviously the vocals are very strong. BASS is chest thumping and shaking but not the ruling bass which disturbs the vocals. TREBLE is perfect and it sort of synchronises with bass and vocals producing a perfect output. VOCALS are crystal clear and I feel like the Singer is in the same room which I am in. FM radio works fine as well. Bluetooth/aux/USB connectivity are very smooth, fast and perfect. Not tested the karaoke feature yet. To summarise, Obage HT101 is a delight and all true music lovers should have it. It is definitely not for loud listeners but for people who wants to listen to pure and sweet music for a long time without any discomfort, in one word the sound that OBAGE produces is full of sweetness and melody. Also, Obage has one of the best customer care support in India. The customer care executives, engineers, technicians are very friendly and helpful with polite behaviour and always ready to help. So lastly I would say if you are looking to buy a new home theatre system just go for Obage and don’t wait. It’s also an Indian brand, so please support them “Mera Bharat Mahan”. Quality fine, bass, sharp everything great.. You'll get really a nice sound experience and I'm already having another obage tower speaker almost 5 years still working like charm.. But this one after few months, some buzzing sound in the speaker,, exactly it's an IC issue.. Its from Sub woofer.. I called them and they gave ic from their side.. No service person here to repair it.. Many calls,, no response..

I brought this speaker to use with my laptop via AUX, the room size 12x10 ft. Sound quality is good, but vloume is not enough for me. This is a good speaker for songs and movies, but not for bass lover. Bass is Ok, but you will not feel the punch or Vibration. Remote and BT connectivity is really good, did not face any issue. For some reason, the bass was not good when connected via AUX and via BT I was able to feel the little punchy bass, that was missing when connected via AUX. No distrotion even at 90% volume. Design and Meterial quality feels is good. No AUX cable issued on the Box Support from Obage is really really great, Other top brand should learn from them. When called the line was busy and later they reached me via Whatapp and was able to help with my issue (Return/Replace). Overall considering the Price, this is a really good speaker for small room. if you are not expecting a too much bass. Hope this help

Product sound quality is really good for small room. Also multiple options are provided which are user friendly to operate. Main purpose for me is to operate radio and to for song listening on this home theatre which is exceptionally great. We use to enjoy all radio station without any interruption. Bluetooth connectivity is also working fine. Only 1 issue I noted in remote functionality which was resolved by the team itself and they provided me new remote for the same. Custer support team is really great and after sales experience is superb. I would recommend this home theatre if your room size is little smaller and then you can feel bass treble to the most.
