I bought this so I could switch a set of string lights on a stairwell on and off at top and bottom of stairs. Used with Skylink transmitter switches. Had to try three times to pair with the first switch, second one paired the first time. Not unusual for such products, overall very pleased. Hope it holds up.

I have many Skylink products in my house and this is like all of them, very easy to install and use but also easy to customize to do exactly what I want. I used two of these together with two panel switches and the remote to give me great flexibility controlling the lights in our master bedroom. Excellent product at a great price.

Small form factor allows for use in outlet with cramped space.

Works great in my 1930's house where there are no switched outlets.

I picked up four of the PM-318-2 smart outlets, mostly for use in countdown timer mode but performance is inconsistent and flakey at best. Skylink advertises that these outlets can be triggered by Skylink's motion detectors but my experience has been that there is considerable difference in performance in identical PM-318-2 smart outlets placed in the same location. Often continued activity around the motion detector does not renew/reset the smart outlet countdown timer, with the result that the timer expires, the outlet turns off and does not turn on again. Checking the event logs indicates that the motion detector is still reporting activity. This inconsistent and troubling performance indicates a serious potential quality control / QA issue with a product that does not perform as expected and not compare favourably with like-priced smart home alternatives. Not recommended unless you want to lose your hair or mind being a crash test dummy.

The feedback to the app was great. It did not work consistently for a while until I moved the hub to a more centralized location. Now works predictively.
