This is my go to hatchet. I have used it on multiple occasions at the range and camping. The blade is pretty sharp at first for small things but if you are doing some serious chopping you may want to use the puck that comes with it to hone in that edge. Has a really nice weight to it. The sheath is nothing special not super durable. If you are going to hammer anything with the back of it take the sheath off or you will split the end of it like I did. I would recommend making your own with some thicker leather. Besides that this this is a winner it cuts wood and goes where you swing it. The puck, sheath, and belt holster are a bonus.

As far as what I will use this for (hunting), this is a well built, sharp hatchet that is very portable. Not only would it be a good hiking tool and camping tool, but I even plan on trying it on some wooden spoon making. We'll done

Holding up well for splitting kindling and fatwood. Leather holder fell apart almost immediately. If that is you reason for choosing this one I would look elsewhere.

Been getting lots of good use! Prepping stock for spoon carving and even cut down a small Russian olive tree. Holds an edge well, & easy to sharpen

Okay for the price but the edge wasn’t sharpened evenly and the quality wasn’t the best. The weight is good and feels comfortable to hold. The blade cover broke very quickly
