Plan B Games - Century: Golem Edition - Board Game

We have quite a range of strategy games and this is up there amongst the very best of them. It's relatively easy to set up and learn, with plenty of depth and replayability. Looks very pretty too if that matters to you. Similar to Splendor and Jaipur but even better than those classics.

Fun for parents and kids, should be good from Age 7 or 8 if your kid can sit for about 45 mins. Box bit tight to open , I put a fabric ribbon across so i can pull it up

Really good game - even my wife likes it and she’s not into board games usually! Takes a couple of goes to get used to it and learn about it but so worth it! You’ll find yourself trying different strategies and it’s not easy to say who could win. Mainly played as 2 players but when played with 3 or more an extra dynamic is added. Contents wise it’s well made and the cards pop out with nice illustrations. Would be good if a playing mat was included.

First one of the Century Golum games. Very pretty. Lovely quality to the cards and gems. Easy to learn and fun to play with friends.

This is a fun game where you use your cards to gain and upgrade crystals, which you then spend on gollums for points. Love the artwork, the oversized tarot style cards are really clear and easy to understand, the components are amazing! Gems and cards are good quality and the coins are metal. Visitors (non gamers) tend to love this game and find it interesting and engaging. Knocked a star off because I know that they made a playmat for this game but it doesn't come included which I think is a shame because it would make setup that much easier, but overall I highly recommend.

Great modern boardgame, easy to teach and play, non gamers and gamers alike will enjoy it. Two page rule book so easy to pick up and play

Played it 100 times of a the last year. Great for kids aged 8-10, and with adults. Fairly straightforward to learn, but lots to master.

I really enjoy board games. I am trying to get friends and family interested in them too and Century golems is a great easy to learn game to play. Century: Golem Edition is an absolute gem in the world of board games. From the moment I opened the box, I was captivated by the stunning artwork and attention to detail. The golem-themed components are beautifully crafted, adding an immersive and visually appealing dimension to the game. The gameplay itself is nothing short of brilliant. The combination of resource management, card drafting, and strategic planning is executed flawlessly. Each decision feels meaningful, and every move has consequences, making for a deeply engaging experience. The mechanics are easy to grasp, making it accessible for both casual gamers and seasoned strategists. It was nice because even though I'm a seasoned gamer and my parents were not, my mom was able to win because her strategy was better than mine. The game strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and depth. While it's easy to learn and get started, the layers of strategy unfold over time, providing ample room for mastery and repeated plays. This makes it a versatile choice for various gaming groups and skill levels. The replayability of Century is great so far. I haven't been tired of playing the game even though we have played it multiple nights in a row. The randomized market tiles and card distribution ensure that each game feels fresh and offers new challenges. It's also a great game for seniors who need some extra time thinking between turns. The game also accommodates different playstyles. Whether you prefer to focus on building an efficient engine, racing for high-value golems, or employing a balanced approach, there are multiple viable strategies to explore. I like watching my parents try different strategies to win. Sometimes my mom hoards gems until the last minute. I like to try to make golem combinations. I like the artwork, so I imagine I'm making a friendly golem town and try to go for sets. It makes the game more challenging for me and it gives others a chance to win. I really like how the rulebook is a single piece of hard cardstock. I can keep it on the table next to me in case there are any questions without having to flip through an extensive rule book. It also provides excellent examples, making it easy to reference during play.

Un juego muy interesante y divertido, si te gustan las mecánicas de construcción de mazo y compra de cartas con recursos. Lo más interesante me parece tratar de adaptar tu estrategia al juego del resto de jugadores dejando siempre una puerta abierta por si pierdes la carta que ibas buscando. Al principio puede ser algo lento por las opciones disponibles para conseguir gemas y comprar cartas, pero en cuanto empiezas a tener claros las combinaciones de jugadas que te interesan se vuelve muy divertido, sobre todo cuando te das cuenta de que otro jugador va a conseguir su objetivo antes y tienes que tratar de recortar jugadas para adelantarte.

Avevo giocato già questo titolo una volta ad una serata di giochi da tavolo e mi aveva colpito particolarmente, tanto che ultimamente l'ho ricercato qui su Amazon ed acquistato subito! Assolutamente consigliato anche a chi bazzica poco i giochi da tavolo, le regole sono molto poche ed è subito chiaro l'obiettivo del gioco. Unico problema potrebbe essere che non esiste la traduzione in italiano ma le regole sono descritte in un foglio avanti e retro ed è pure documentato con immagini, impossibile sbagliare. Questo titolo NON è compatibile che "l'originale non Golem Edition" ma fortunatamente hanno annunciato che faranno anche le espansioni del gioco originale anche per la Golem Edition (una è già fuori, l'altra sta arrivando) e consiglio spassionatamente di restare direttamente sulla Golem Edition senza andare ad acquistare la versione "normale". Spero vi piacerà quanto a me!

This isn't a review on the game itself (which is great by the way, tried it with friends and decided to get myself a copy) The box arrived correctly sealed with all contents and no damage to the exterior which I find to be quite important. The pricing is also fair, and delivery was within 2 days (the day after the order was the elections so I didn't expect it then), but not sure whether the delivery was done via the seller or Amazon fulfillment
