Seattle's Best Coffee Toasted Hazelnut Flavored Medium Roast Ground Coffee | 12 Ounce Bag

The SBC Post Alley is my favorite "reasonably priced" blend and I can buy it basically everywhere cheap as a ground coffee, the problem is that I really, really prefer to grind my own both for fineness since I do a pour over and for freshness. I was so happy to see that Amazon finally started carrying this as whole bean direct that I jumped on them and immediately bought 4. If you like your roast dark and smokey without any sourness, this could be your happy place. The closest other option I can find is the TJ's Bay Blend which isn't as smokey but similar in richness and lack of sour bite. I love this coffee and will be hoping it stays in Amazon's rotation permanently as a whole bean coffee. I should add that this is a dark, smokey blend with a bitter cast but no "sour" taste (which is what bothers me about lighter roasts). I've had mellower darks and super darks but I've fallen in love with the smoke in this for some reason. The price doesn't hurt either. That said, I do a pour over on an extra fine grind and use a valve to go for longer extraction, so my tastes may be suspect to traditionalists. If you're sensitive to bitter, be prepared (it's not super bitter but it's there), don't like smoke in your coffee, or like "bright" flavors, move on. If you like dark, strong coffee that's not sour at all and don't mind a bit of bitter and plenty of smoke, you've found a good inexpensive option.

Bought based on reviews and price point. I use a french press and I grind coarsely, and each use. This has good flavor, with a little bit of robust dark flavor. I then stepped up to the robust "post alley" buying it at the grocer. It was not as flavorful as this level is. I tried the Don Pablano at a robust dark level and this is still more flavorful- and cheaper. I can use up to twice the amount of ground coffee per serving with those two and not get the same flavor as with this. For 5$ this is a flavorful cup, (note- not harsh as Ill made darker coffees are). I'll probably stick with this for a while instead of experimenting any more. I'd love for it to be just a touch darker, bit it is absolutely great for the type and st the price amazing.

I have been on a quest to find a decent budget coffee so I can stop spending $20 or more for 12oz. of coffee beans. Thought I would try this. I am a big pour over fan, tried this and honestly, it was really not good. Not undrinkable by any means, but it tastes like a burned dark roast. Just right in your face cheap coffee at a diner kind of feel to it. I was bummed. HOWEVER, I thought, lets try a cold brew. And wow, such a difference. Is it a great coffee with cold brew, well no, but for the money, its fantastic. The cold brew changes the flavor from a burned out acidic dark roast java monster to a very smooth, very chocolaty mellow drink. I'm very happy with it. So, in summary, if you want something super cheap for cold brew, absolutely buy this. If you want something for pour over, espresso, slow drip, etc. Buy it still so you can throw it away and make sure no one else has to experience it.

Good medium roast.

Great tasting medium coffee that's a blend. So far I have had 3 ground bags, one of them the beans and they all smelled fresh. It also tastes like rich coffee and not a blend of not so great beans that other blends use and charge over twice the price. Also I use cream and sweetner which is important to add to the review. I am still looking for 3 good medium roasts to be my go to coffees and this will be one of them.

I was introduced to coffee beans in Autumn of 2014. It is the only way I make coffee now. I ask myself before choosing which bean I grind "Do I want to have coffee or do I want my coffee to have me!" If I decide on the latter then this is the one I choose! It says it is dark on the package and that is called "Truth in Advertising!" I love it!

It took me a few brews to hit MY mark. For me I like a medium strength coffee. For me I use 30 grams of coffee to a 8 cup pot. 1st pot was bitter almost over roasted taste. (drinkable) 2nd pot 28gm better 3rd pot 26 -27 gm for a little over 8 cups I can fill over the line on my Bonavita machine. That was it for me good coffee it has just really been roasted more that I think a medium blend would be. Price is right and if I am not worried about price I will purchase a different bean.

Love this coffee. We have been drinking it forever. Purchased by the case.
