This device is excellent and works as well as much more expensive units
This device is excellent and works as well as more expensive units. Comes with a driver DVD or the latest version driver can be downloaded from the IO Crest website. Provides 8 serial port tail cables using standard 9 pin female connectors. Only slight drawback is the 8 tails are slightly heavy in my estimation and should have some type of strain relief. I ty-wrapped the cable to the cabinet to provide relief on the multi-point connector. Regardless, it iss still an excellent purchase for the price.

Worth it for those who need a lot of serial connectivity
Works pretty well. Using this in a 2U server to connect with multiple other servers and UPS.I had some difficulties getting this to work in Linux (Debian) but got it running after some tweaking. Incredibly nice to centralize connectivity and be able to write custom code on that server to interact with the full infrastructure Using this primarily to allow for SSH and issuing commands to multiple servers with ease

Trouble-free under Windows 10
No issues with Windows 10. Plugged it into an open video card slot (PCIe 16X). Hand-installed the drivers supplied on the CD for the Exar chip. For once, the COM port numbering was in the correct order, consistent with the numbers stamped on the connectors. Worked with an application that had been having fits with other boards.

This is a reliable and well supported multi-port serial card for those of us who need multiple RS-232 ports. It worked out of the box on the Linux server I put it in.

I use this card as an access server for managing a host of cisco switches and routers via console, and it seems to work fine. Cables are well made and the card slots in nicely. My only gripe is that it seems to cause frequent crashes in Windows 10 (I've not tried earlier versions) and that it does not seem to work at all in OSX, though I have heard people have been able to get it to work somehow. As far as Linux goes, and specifically Ubuntu 17.04, there's been absolutely no problems with system stability and Ubuntu 16.x and on actually have the drivers built in so there's no struggle there, which is fantastic. Driver install in windows was monotonous (you have to install the driver for each of the 8 serial interfaces).
