Oil and Water Don't Mix
I recently got my hands on this engine oil tester, and let me tell you, it's opened a whole new level of insight into the status and remaining life of the oil in a vehicle’s engine. For all the car enthusiasts out there, this compact gadget has completely transformed the way I do oil changes. First off, the ease of use is fantastic. With just a few simple steps, I was able to analyze the condition of my engine oil without any hassle. The digital display provides clear and accurate results, making it super user-friendly, even for those not-so-tech-savvy folks. What this tester gives is more than the ability to detect oil quality, but also can help see early signs that may point to potential engine issues. It's like having a mechanic in your pocket! The device helped me identify a minor problem before it turned into a major headache, potentially saving the engine from further damage and eventual failure. Without going in too much detail, a gasket on the motor was allowing coolant to seep into the oil, which is not a good thing. But I caught it with this tool. The tool is built well and feels quite durable. The compact design makes it a convenient tool to have in your garage maintenance kit. Plus, the affordability makes it a no-brainer investment for anyone who cares about their vehicle's longevity and the performance of its fluids. In conclusion, this engine oil tester was a must-have for me, and should be for anyone serious about keeping their ride in top-notch condition. It's user-friendly, affordable, and could potentially save you from costly repairs down the road. Trust me, you won't regret adding this little gem to your automotive toolkit!

Bait and switch! You do not get the white wire!
I specifically ordered this unit to get the white wire because it doesn’t have the ruff connector this one has. This one gets caught in dip stick tubes and over time rips apart. The white wire shown in the pictures is a smooth connector and doesn’t get caught. They use that wire on the transmission tester is how I know. If this tool came with the white wire shown it would have been a 5 star review! The tool itself is great. But beware the connector will snag on anything if you pull too hard you risk dropping the end in the pan!

Extremely accurate, very easy to use!
It’s extremely accurate, very easy to use. You could even put it down your dipstick of your vehicle, but you may have to rotate it to make sure you can get it out because it does get caught sometimes on the edge, but you can always rotate it. I wish you could be able to because there’s no way to wrap it up without kinking the line somewhere. I slid a 1 inch piece of rubber hose and taped it to the base so I did not kink anymore.

It supposed to be like that?!
I did test engine Oil in my truck switch button to diesel, shows 0 and x. My friend truck same show 0 and x. New gallon opened, show 100% and OK. Putting strobe in water, shows 100% and OK. Putting nowhere, holding on air, show 100% and OK. So, tell me, what is going on!?

Unique tool to check oil quality
Unfortunately when I opened the box, there wasn't any instructions (small oversight). The tool wasn't hard to figure out and work it. I tried using old oil and fresh oil. Gave what I thought were decent percentages of quality. I did however continued testing and 1 oil test with new oil the tool basically said it had 70 percent left. It might of been something interfering with the sensor, not sure. But overall it worked pretty good. Gave a good estimate as to the temp of the oil. I like the fact that someone could pull up and I can just remove the dipstick and shove the sensor down the tube hole and get a reading as to the quality. It's a novelty item, but for something unknown it could prove helpful.

Reorted 100% OK oil when in the air & will not fit into some GM vehicles
I tested the 4 batteries to assure they were fully charged As first test I did not install the test end into anything but the air and tester said 100% oil quality :( I then tested with a 1993 Caddy Deville with 4.9L V8 engine with oil temps at 42 Deg, results 90% which sounds high for oil at least a year old Drive this car seldom but changed oil 1 year ago so not sure when this tester showed oil to be 90% in the good Tried than to test engine oil of my C5 Corvette to find the head of this tool which is about 5mm diameter would fit down the dipstick pipe but than hit the top of where engine is to be 5 inches to short of being in oil pan Head is too large to fit past block and into the oil pan so cannot use this tool on many GM engine designs In the end, could not prove or assure oil results are correct

Interesting concept, however oil quality readings are very questionable !
The Autool could be a helpful tool addition especially when you don't have the traditional milage and time information on the engine oil you are evaluating! There are a number of ways to " electronically" evaluate engine oil, however those techniques use more expensive sensors! It appears this tester uses a LED and a photocell located in the little cavity at the end of the semi-rigid white test probe. This oil transparency tester yielded results that were questionable for sure. Field testing 4 later model cars, with at least 6000 miles and at least 1 year old, gave me a 100% good reading. I was able to collect some real dirty commercial mower oil that had at least 150 + hours of use , well beyond the specified 50 hours, it tested OK and read 75% . ( see the enclosed pictures ). It's a nice-looking tool with a reasonable display, however after cleaning the sensor tip with a paper towel carefully after each test , the sensor separated from the white probe cable/wire conduit. Really wanted this product to perform, however the results speak clearly for themselves. !

A nice little tool for “quick glance” of an oil status. Not really great for oil health but ok for a novice.

Neues Motorenöl wurde zu 100 Prozent richtig erkannt. Das gleiche Öl im Motor wurde nach ca 300 km Laufkeistung mit 20 Prozent bewertet.
