Box came smashed though sealed. Set is complete with 3 double-sided face plates, strap, a code card, and instructions. The water level was low and there is no way to fill it. You don't need to be able to read Japanese to play. The screen has icons for turning upside down, shaking back and forth etc, though I would highly recommend you to watch a walkthrough video on YouTube. The aim of the game is to collect all stickers to fill up your albums. You get stickers from trapping sumikkos. Each trap type has its own possibilities so you'd need to buy several units of all types of traps. Some stickers are also wearables, you can change outfits and delight your sumikko. You earn currency by playing lots of minigames. The minigames are easy, the 1st one can be completed quickly. You don't really need to feed and take care of sumikkos. They won't die. Instead, they will run away. It is easy to catch them, just turn unit upside down and back again. Easier than feeding every sumikko 50x. You start with all 5 Sumikkos. I haven't counted to be sure but it seemed like 50-100x feeding per sumikko to get them fully satiated. Food doesn't stay long, they get hungry all too soon. I grew tired to feeding them on the first day and discovered that catching them back was easier. It is not a very exciting game though it is a great way to pass time while offline. On a plane, in a train or as a passenger commuter. This pink versión is supposed to be a limited edition while the blue is regular. What I dislike about this toy is that the buttons clack noisily.

Great and cute little toy. It takes a few tries to understand what motions it detects for some of the mini games, however.

I purchased the Sumikko Water DX because I was curious about it. For this DX version, it comes along with 2 extra faceplates and one hand strap. Unlike the original version, this Sumikko device is pink instead of blue. I like blue and hate pink. I purchased this one only because it includes some extra accessories and it is more worthy. It is better if the manufacturer sells DX version in blue also. There are 6 mini games. Two games require motion control, and it is tiring to play. My eyes became very tired after playing these games for a short while, and I experienced headache and want to vomit. It seems that the feature of motion control is bad for human health. For the v-pet simulation, the feature of motion control is acceptable. Yet, the pets have to eat plenty of food before they get full. It takes much time to feed them to full, and the process of feeding them is quite boring. I can’t play it until I have enough time. If you do not feed them regularly to full, it is difficult to complete the collection of all items. It seems to exhaust my patience for feeding them, and I may just put it aside without completion. Such a pity.

The product is very cute and it is so funny to play with the water inside of the screen, It makes it very interactive and engaging. I am really happy to bought it.

The product is super cute! I love how it comes with more faceplates to chage. However, the water inside the product is very low when it came. I believe it will be evaporated later on, which is very unfortunate. They said that it still can work without the water. But hey, the water is the fun and unique part of this. Still love it though. I would give 3.5 stars for the cuteness and idea.
