Best power screwdriver you can own
Expensive, commercial duty costs. Impact screwdriver with two batteries, lots of power, works on 2” deck screw probably not recommend. Worked great on 1” deck screws for conduit hangers, super perfect for electric work, hanging lights, box installation, long switch screws, power wire stripper, 5/16” sheet metal screws, fast powerful works where you need a screwdriver not the size and speed or power of an 20v impact driver but plenty for a screwdriver. Only thing that needs changed is chuck, you have to pull collar out to put in bits. Buy if you use a screwdriver a lot worth it.

Compact, Powerful, and Surprisingly Versatile
This is hands-down one of the most versatile tools I own. Whether I’m assembling furniture, installing light switches, or tackling random around-the-house jobs, the Makita TD022DSE makes everything easier and faster. One thing worth noting—though not a downside—is just how powerful this little driver is. It’s very strong for its size, so you’ll often find yourself barely pulling the variable-speed trigger to avoid overdriving screws. The trigger is also quite sensitive, so there’s a bit of a learning curve when doing more delicate work. Compared to cheaper models that run at a more “household-friendly” speed by default, this one feels geared more toward power users or folks who want professional-level performance in a small package. Overall, excellent build quality and performance—just know what you’re buying. If you’re someone who appreciates precision and power in a compact form factor, this is it.

The best screwdriver of this form factor I've ever used
I love everything about this thing. The size, weight, power, light, holster. There is not a single thing I would change. The trigger can be a bit touchy, but just takes some getting used to. The only thing I can't vouch for at this point is durability, but if it holds true to Makita quality, it will be around for a long while. I didn't expect to love the impact feature so much. I've used a few screwdrivers like this before (Milwaukee) and they used a simple gearbox to drive the screw in. This led to stripped screws and sometimes took a long time to drive a long screw with tight threads, even in 2nd gear. This impact keeps screws from stripping, and has excellent speed and power for driving screws. Just to be clear, I use this for electrical work. I drove a few short wood screws to see how powerful it was, and while it did drive them without a pilot hole, I would stick with a larger impact driver for anything bigger than a drywall screw. Highly recommend this to anyone who installs devices or fixtures. Electrical devices, door hardware, hinges, etc..

The best mini impact driver/screwdriver I've ever bought
I'm an hvac technician and I really appreciate this tool for its capabilities. Been using it over 1 year now.. Easy to hold and precise variable speed control. Auto lock, makes it usable like a hand screwdriver in some situations requiring extra loosening/tightening torque. Tool is mostly used to remove panel screws from ac units and also for some appliance work. Ive also used it on self drilling screws and it works ok, but not the best tool for drilling into metal. Battery life is extremely good, very rarely change batteries although I use it daily. As a technician, this tool is an extremely essential part of my first responsder tools. Great job makita. For its category this tool is untouchable. Price was a little high but this thing is pure quality and actually works.

High quality impact driver/screwdriver
This is a great product. An impact driver at the size and weight of a regular power screwdriver. I use this for all my home jobs that require the use of a screwdriver. Compared to a regular power screwdriver this provides much higher torque with less effort and it's less likely to strip crew heads. Also, the continuously variable speed is an advantage compared to other power screwdrivers which only have a single speed or maybe two speeds. It provides good control and it can be used as a manual screwdriver for very delicate jobs or when you want to have exact torque control. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is the high price tag (currently $189.99). I believe the construction cost of this product is much lower than that and the only reason for the high price is that there are no similar competing products out there.

A must have tool for me.
I purchased this tool a year ago this month and use it daily in the HVAC trade. I can run #10 self-tapping screws into 2 layers of 24ga metal, but don't use it for that much except if it saves me a trip to the truck. The impact will do it though but slow. As a screwdriver, driver, 1/4" impact wrench it's just a great tool. In combination with the Milwaukee 1/4" drive 90 degree offset tool, I use this everywhere. I was concerned about not having a clutch, but once I was used to the tool, it wasn't an issue. Just snug good with power and twist to finish. Quite a bit of money, but I couldn't find another tool with similar spec last year. I'd buy it again.

Worth the price tag
If you're thinking about getting it, just do it. It's a lot of money for what it is, I know, but that's because there is nothing else by any other company in the league this thing is in. It's small and handy, but it also packs a punch. Nothing else this size has the power and ability. I use it daily as an electrician; it works for most of my needs, can drive screws into wood, and I keep it right on my belt with the included holster. It's great to have this light weight thing on my side rather than having to carry around my xdt16 impact everywhere. Also, I can last a week on one battery charge. I'm satisfied with my purchase.
