Awesome portable gaming machine
Nice upgrade from my rg35V. I like having the hall effect joysticks. The retro game library is huge but you can play android games too! Bluetooth, wifi, etc. This really is a great modern gaming machine for playing modern or retro games.

Misleading
Was of the understanding it came with Nintendo games. It does come with the emulators installed but no games for any of the Nintendo consoles. NES to GC. Played the other games twice and already has a hardcore drift. Terrible device.

Great little handheld - very Versatile - 4:3 aspect ratio screen, Octacore APU
RV405V Review Disclaimer: I own/use countless electronic & gaming devices. I'll advise anyone looking to purchase an Electronic device that the TWO main features to look for are the quality of the screen and input devices. All the various performance attributes come after those. After all you need to look at it and interact with it first and foremost. :) There are quite a few of these types of devices on the market. Keep in mind that much like many electronic devices these days the device makers simply take a bunch of 'off the shelf' parts and bundle them into a hopefully attractive product. So while much of the hardware is NOT custom, they likely may of compiled the Android OS for their device, all the apps (and emulators) are packaged from other sources as well as the 'retro games' (if included) were created by others. Some device makers may or not include custom menus or configurations that make their device easier to use. The RG405V has a simple button on the left side where taping that will bring you in/out of its gaming 'launch pad' where you can select the gaming system you wish to emulate and then drop down to a list of games. It is EASY to navigate and simple. Sure there are other menu's one can get that look better and have more features, however this comes with the handheld, preinstalled and configured PLUS works good enough. Does this device have the latest and greatest versions of all the emulators with them all 'tweaked' or adjusted for maximum performance on the RG405V? Of course not!! Frankly IDT you'll find that with ANY of these devices. First the good: - This has a 'native' 4:3 aspect ratio IPS screen. It looks good! (most devices your emulating HAD that aspect ratio!) - While larger than a GBA/GBC (and weighing more as well) it fits well in my hands - The specifications on the internals are very good! (performance of a iPhone6 or Samsung S7) - It comes with Android13, a bunch of Emulators & a bunch of games - It can be loaded with Steam & Steam Link and used to stream PC games to - Wireless AC & modern Bluetooth, an 8 core CPU provides enough 'umph' for many PS2 games Then the not-so-good: - While NOT UNIQUE to this device, ALL 'retro' gaming systems that try to emulate more than ONE console can have general 'button mapping issues' where for each system & game the user needs to investigate which buttons on the device actually do anything and what exactly they do. :) Besides the above, one might consider how 'playable' many of these 'retro games' were in the first place even on their native devices. :) Surely over the multi-decade history of electronic gaming there have been countless 'hits' as well as 'duds' or 'misses' that were released. Conclusion: I'm a BIG fan of the screen aspect ratio, vertical format and resolution. The hall effect controls work well. With 'Steam Link' I'm able to Stream PC games and if I keep to titles with 'full controller support' (IE: xBox controller) there is little to no guesswork as to what buttons work (or not) and what they are for. On the 'retro' side of things I've mainly ventured into the GBA and N64 titles. The former as the graphics & controls in many cases (in the newer titles) look decent enough and the controls fairly easily map to the RG405V. The N64 titles look even better however the controls might not be as readily apparent. I have not ventured very far into the PS2 emulation abilities noting that while the RG405V has an Octacore CPU, it is one of the WEAKER ones used in the Retro Handheld market. (weaker than its T820 'big brother' which has been known to 'struggle' with more 'demanding' PS2 titles. Pictured I have 'Return to Castle Wolfenstine' running/playing fine. It might be worth noting that not ALL PS2 games might be playable on this device in its stock form and there are other devices at this price point that may offer better performance. Here ones expectations need to be set as depending on how or where you source and configure these devices, 'value', 'performance' & ultimate cost may be vastly different. So far for a couple hours of 'Castle Wolfenstine' gaming used ~%20 battery capacity/charge so I'd expect ~8hrs of play time on a charge or longer with a less demanding game. 'High Power' or 'High Performance' handhelds with a Vertical format & 4:3 aspect ratio are kind of rare. An upgrade to this device is the RG406V (it uses the T820). Alternates in the horizontal form factor are the RG406H (same screen & aspect ratio but with controls on the sides) or the RG556 with a 16:9 aspect ratio and OLED screen (costing a bunch more).

No games loaded.
There were no games loaded on this sim card. My son watched several YouTube videos on how to set it up, nothing worked, there were no preloaded games. He talked to someone on TikTok who has this system and he said that the ones on Amazon don't have games loaded because of copyright issues. Very disappointed and we returned the game and purchased from TikTok store where it comes with more extra's and a ton of games pre-loaded.
