EDGE 0W-30 Engine Oil 4L

After some research, this oil is the best for my engine and I recommend it if you have any non-turbo Mazda Skyactiv engine. Specifically, this oil is much better than Castrol Edge 5w30 because that oil is rated LL-04, meaning that it's formulated to help keep emissions systems (DPF, catalytic converter) healthy for longer. This means 5w30 has a low SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorus, sulfur) formula, which compromises on wear protection for lower emissions. Lower SAPS means lower wear protection. This 0w30 has full SAPS. It's not a huge deal, but if you want your engine to last as long as possible, it's something to consider. My engine has 100k miles and still runs perfectly, and I'm trying to keep it going as long as I can. This formulation also has a higher HTHS (High Temperature High Shear) viscosity, which provides even more protection over 5w30. Its high HTHS viscosity (around 3.5cP) allows it to maintain a thicker and more stable lubricating film in high temperature and high load conditions, like high revs. This directly reduces metal-to-metal contact, increasing engine longevity. It doesn't shear as easily because of this, so the oil also breaks down slower.

It took an age to narrow down and figure out which oil was the right one for my car. There is so many contradicting and confusing information out there let alone the fact that BMW keeps "upgrading" what they want to be the appropriate type of oil for newer cars therefore warranting a change in name/number to reference the oil. When I thought I narrowed it down to a something-12 turns out the new something-12 is now something-19. Any way, so far so good. I'm not even going to comment further on the container size compared to what it was like last year.

If you have a Mini One (R56) 1.4 engine (the N12) this oil is great.

Seit über 20 Jeahren verwende ich nun dieses Motoröl für meinen BMW. Zuerst hieß es "Castrol SLX" und und hatte einen grünen Farbton. Dann wurde es zu "Castrol Edge" umbenannt und die grüne Farbe wurde hellbraun. Zuletzt hatte ich Probleme mit der Vanos (mech. Nockenwellenverstellung) am meinem BMW Motor, aber das hatte nichts mit dem Castrol Edge 0W30 zu tun, sondern ist einfach nur eine Krankheit an vielen BMWs. Beim abbauen des Ventildeckels konnte man sehen, wie sauber das Öl den Motor gehalten hat. Im inneren des Zylinderkopfes war alles hell goldbraum und nicht dunkelbraun bis grauschwarz. Für mich war es die Bestätigung, dass ich auf das richtige Öl gesetzt habe. Für eine Zeit lang (2020-2021) hatte das Castrol Edge 0W/30 keine Zulassung für BMW Motoren. Plötzlich war es nur noch für Renault und andere Fahrzeuge zugelassen. Das hat sich aber wieder geändert. Nun prangert auch wieder die BMW LL-04 Zulassung auf der Rückseite der Ölkanisters. Für welche Motoren ist dieses Öl geeignet? Viele werden sich fragen, ob dieses Öl, neben der offiz. der Fraigabe auch für ihr Fahrzeug geeignet ist!?!? Grundsätzlich ist dieses"dünne" Öl für Fahrzeuge geeignet, welche konstruktions- und verschleißbedingt ein geringes Lagerspiel von Pleullagern und Kolben haben. Dies trifft i.d.R. auf neuwertige Fahrzeuge, sowie Fahrzeuge mit geringer Laufleistung oder Fahrzeuge, die von Beginn an nie ein 15W/40 oder 10W40 Öl gesehen haben. Dieses Öl ist weniger für hochgezüchtete Motoren, wie z.B. dem BMW M3 oder BMW M5 (Spezialfreigabe!) geeignet. Da sollte man sich nochmals explizit informieren.

Este aceite hace su trabajo a la perfección. Desde que lo uso, el coche va más suave que la seda, el consumo de combustible parece haber mejorado ligeramente y el arranque en frío es impecable. Además, al ser sintético y de baja viscosidad, protege el motor como un escudo invisible, reduciendo la fricción y optimizando el rendimiento. Eso sí, no esperes que venga con superpoderes para arreglar un motor destrozado, pero si quieres darle a tu coche el mejor cuidado posible, este aceite es de lo mejorcito del mercado. Pros: ✅ Lubricación excelente, el motor funciona más suave ✅ Buena protección en arranques en frío ✅ Reduce la fricción y mejora la eficiencia Contras: ❌ No es el aceite más barato del mundo, pero la calidad lo vale Conclusión: Si quieres que tu motor te lo agradezca con años de servicio sin problemas, este aceite es una apuesta segura. ¡Pura mantequilla para el motor!

Très bonne huile, j'ai une BMW 530d de 2003, depuis que je roule avec cet huile mon moteur tourne mieux moin d'effort moin de fumée et plus économique. Je recommande cet huile pro.
