Self sharpening is a bonus
I ordered this as I was in need of a new body shaver and this Philips 12 in 1 multigroom seemed to fit my needs. You get quite a few attachments in this kit including a nose trimmer, body trimmer guards, a detail trimmer and hair guard (to name a few). You also get a USB-A cable with the kit, you don't get the charging block adaptor which is a little annoying, however I have multiple USB charger ports at home and many spare block adaptors so I wasn't too mad. It's also good for traveling if you needed a quick charge on your charging brick for example. The guards and other accessories are really easy to change. I was a little confused when there was no oil in this kit, as this was something that was normally standard in all mens grooming kits, until I read that the blades are self-sharpening, so this was a huge bonus for me as I was always getting the oil everywhere including in the travel bags that they tend to come with, so this was something I really did rate about this shaving kit. The bag itself while this fit everything in, was a little on the flimsy side and there is no compartments so I would need to empty out the contents to try and find the guard I was looking for. The shaver itself is really nice to use. I have mainly used this on my chest, nose and beard and have not found this to pull my hairs or irritate my skin. This shaver states that this is "shower proof", I'm not sure to what degree I can use this in the shower so I have always used this dry and I haven't had any issues with it so far. The battery seems to last a decent length of time and it's really easy to clean - I just run the head under running water with it turned on and it works a treat. I make sure it's dry before storing. I haven't noticed any part of this rusting either. Overall, for the current value, I would say this is a decent kit for your money and would recommend. This would also make a pretty cool gift for someone as well .

Great trimmer for a close shave.
The Philips Multigroom 5000 trimmer is a great product. What I like about it. The travel case is really nice, it has enough space to hold all the accessories and the shaver itself while staying somewhat compact so you can put it in a normal backpack for short trips. The trimmer itself is very powerful, with a nice design making it easy to get a close shave. It feels durable and comfortable to use, as I got this for review, I'd just say the price is about what I would expect to pay for a trimmer of this quality. What I don't like is that there are several different versions of this trimmer with not much to differentiate them, it can be confusing to pick the right one for your needs.

Straightforward and effective
Overall I'm impressed with this trimmer. I've found it easy to use the different guards, and changing the head to one of the alternatives is straight forward enough. I've had no troubles with the size or grip and it feels good in the hand. It's nice that the charge lead is now USB, however the charge port on the device itself is not USB meaning you still need to use it's own bespoke cable. It would have been much nicer to see a USB C port on the device for charging. The battery lasts a good while so that's a bonus. I'm particularly impressed with the intimate guard, it cuts reasonably close to the skin whilst effectively protecting your skin from unwanted accidental cuts. Even on the most uneven areas I had no trouble with it, it too stays in place and didn't self eject at all. Comes with a drawstring bag which keeps everything together nicely, and would be suitable for travel. Overall quality is as you'd expect from a name brand like Phillips, it's more expensive than cheaper alternatives, but you get what you pay for and the value is there.

Marred by a fundamental flaw…
The quality is ok and the accessories are ok…. BUT However, when using these clippers, I kept accidentally pressing the button turning them off. Initially I thought it was just because the button was too sensitive. Then I thought it was because the handle was a bit too thick and clumsy. However… then I compared these clippers to my other clippers… I have multiple from various premium brands. (Way too many…) These Philips Series are the only clippers that have the button on the “back” of the device. ALL the other clippers have the button on the clipper blade side… or the “front” of the device. It makes the likelihood of touching the power button much more likely. The location is extremely annoying. It is exactly the location you place your fingers or thumb to hold the clippers against the head, face or body. I can only assume that the designer thought it looked better… and wasn’t actually using these. The high reviews suggest maybe others have ignored the issue. However, I suspect other people have the same problem but haven’t had multiple other clippers to compare against to realise this was the issue. These clippers will stay as a spare…as they are simply too irritating to use ….on… off… on…. off….
