Pull Down Closet Rod - Heavy duty 33 lbs Load Capacity - With Adjustable Width - Chrome-plated

I bought 6 of this for a master closet with 10 foot ceilings and they work great,I installed them on my own and they are really easy to install. I installed them at 44 inches wide with no problems.

This product masquerades as some luxury high end amenity for your decadent closet. In fact, it is carefully engineered to maximize their profits, nothing more, with lovely chrome hardware where you can see it, but the core mechanical workings are cheap plastic! As if that's not bad enough, after it explodes on you for having the audacity to actually use it, and after you purchase a replacement here on Amazon for not-so-cheap bucks, the instructions in the package leave you completely guessing, you must look at the parts and figure it out for yourself. WORSE, it's at this point that you realize that in the process of self-exploding off the wall, many of the screws actually shear off in your wooden cabinet, making reinstallation impossible without either 1) moving down about an inch, exposing the old screw holes on top, or 2) trying to drill out the old screws so you can reinstall it properly in place. It is at this point where I am writing, having spent the last 15 minutes dulling two drill bits trying to drill out ONE of the FOUR broken screws in my wall, realizing I'm going to have to go with the ugly Option #1. DON'T BUY THIS HORRIBLE PRODUCT! Of course they warn you in the description not to actually put any weight on it--take this seriously, it's beyond your imagination how cheaply this is made!

Great product. Really helped with space in my closet. Easy to install. I did it with my 27 yo old sons help. Takes about 20 minutes to install.

I have three other pull downs that are made differently. This one is better because it has stops to save the weight .

I bought mine used - very good. It was missing the pole for pulling down the mechanism so I am dropping a star. I'm handy and meant to modify it anyway. The quality is excellent. It feels very well made. I think the product is a 4.5 to 5 star product.

Great concept and many models. There are two Hafele models - one with a load rating of 26lbs , and one 33lbs that is called the Heavy Duty model. The housing and components look the same, but an internal load resistance part is different with no markings on the unit. However the Hafele box gives the model number, and the instruction sheet lists the models. I ordered a Heavy Duty (33lb) load one and received a normal 26lb load one. Also despite the name, made in China. Further, inside the Amazon box, the Hafele box had one cardboard tab end completely torn off, and another ragged partially torn corner tab - making me think someone had opened this before. I do not know how to determine if this was a returned item. Never installed it, so I cannot talk about quality, but Hafele usually is good quality. Also, 33 lbs of clothing is not as many as I thought. If you are using this for a wide closet, there could be a surprise.
