I've been looking for a handle for my M50 mark 2 camera rig for a while now but didn't want to spend a fortune for one as I try to work on a budget. This one came in at £26 with the NATO rail included and was exactly what I was looking for. It has plenty of 3/8 mounting points 5 hot shoe mounts and even has an ARRI mounting point on the front if you choose to use it. The rubberized part of the handle ensures a decent grip and has been made to fit the fingers even for those like myself with larger hands. The unit itself fits very well onto my Smallrig cage and I have had no issues with it coming lose and rattling around. And the NATO has been designed so that even if the handle did come lose you precious equipment wouldn't go crashing to the floor which is an excellent safety feature. The unit doesn't weight much either so doesn't actually add much at all to the weight of my rig. For the price I paid and the features this handle has I'm very pleased with it. And for anyone looking for a good top handle at a very fair price I would definitely recommend giving this handle a look.

Bought this to go with the smallrig 3940 cage on my Nikon Z8 Nice build quality. Quick and easy to attach and supports a Atomus Shogun Ultra. Plenty of screw holes to add other attachments. I have big hands and the size is adequate for me. I suspect after a days use it will start to feel a little uncomfortable and I’m considering an upgrade to one with a wooden grip. However, this one offers great value for money.

Strong robust solid attaches easy

The handle is sturdy and I felt it is a bit tricky to put and take it out. I didn’t felt confident on this NATO clamp as I’m with Arri. It’s more of a personal choice though.

Very happy with this purchase as it can attach and detach fast to your camera with a Nato rail. Use it on my Sony A7siii, great for both extra point of contact with the camera and for attaching a monitor on it. Been using it with a mounted Ninja V Monitor.

The usual SmallRig quality, well built, practical and made to last. Add fixation points to dice a monitor, the nato clip makes it very easy to get it on and off the cage.

i love this handle, super comfortable to hold and many points to expand my rig on, the quick nato rail removability works flawlessly and is strong. i also love the fact that here on amazon you get the quick release rail included (you cant even find this same model of rail separately) the rail is nice and flat and isn't in the way when the handle is removed.

J’ai acheté cette poignée supérieure SMALLRIG universelle pour compléter ma configuration vidéo, et franchement, elle fait très bien le job. Dès la prise en main, on sent que c’est du solide : l’aluminium est de très bonne qualité, rien ne bouge, et l’ensemble inspire vraiment confiance. Ce que j’apprécie le plus, c’est la polyvalence. Grâce aux multiples pas de vis, aux points de fixation et au cold shoe intégré, on peut y mettre facilement un micro, une lampe ou un moniteur. Ça rend le setup beaucoup plus pratique et propre. Le montage est rapide, la poignée tient parfaitement, et elle améliore vraiment le confort lors des prises de vue en mouvement. the handle is very solid, and i easily trust this to hold my camera, even when adding a v-mount battery and a monitor, ive even moved the camera around fully rigged in a cage and a tripod attached as well, and there was not even the slightest movement in the of the handle. the construction is metal, and theres a nice rubbery grip, the quick release lever works flawlessly, the nato rail attached easily to two 1/4 screws, and here i made the mistake of not checking my cage beforehand, on my cage for the a7c it is not possible to center the nato rail completely, so be sure to check out if your cage is compatible. other than that, it is still a very good handle, and while not perfectly centered its close enough, and it works great.

Obschon der Kauf iwie eine Art Fehlkauf war (ich wollte eigentlich die Kaltschuh-Version, nicht die NATO-Version) bin ich durchaus zufrieden mit dem Teil und werde ihn, aufbewahrend für eine noch folgende Cage-Lösung, behalten. Warum? Nun, er liegt gut in der Hand, ist angenehm zu führen und hat eine Vielzahl von Montagemöglichkeiten für weiteres Zubehör wie Mikros, Licht, Magic-Arms, Batteriehalterungen oder Feldmonitore. Das Teil ist stabil aber nicht zu schwer, die Bohrungen sind präzis und hakelfrei ausgeführt und Grate irgendeiner Art sind ebenfalls nirgendwo nachzuarbeiten. Die Unterseite des eigentlichen Griffes ist rutschfrei ausgestaltet, mal abwarten wie es ausschaut, wenn in ein paar Jahren der Weichmacher des Plastiks sich verabschiedet... Also, wie erwähnt, werde ich ihn behalten auch wenn er zur Zeit grad keine Verwendung findet, frei nach dem Motto "was man hat, hat man" ;) Beigelegt ein passender Imbusschlüssel und eine Ersatzfeder für den NATO-Schnellverschluß (in einem extra Ölpapiertütchen). Nicht nur für Cage-Bastler eine glasklare Empfehlung.
