Excellent Product, Excellent Company
I purchased an InSinkErator disposal 23 years ago. It has worked flawlessly - not a moment of trouble. The reason I replaced it was because the drain port clogged and could not be cleared without damaging the unit. A 20+ year service life is unheard these days, so when I needed a new unit, I went with InSinkErator again. I didn't need customer reviews; I lived the review! I had some questions about replacing the old unit. InSinkErator has a Help Line, I called on a Saturday and the woman who answered really new the product line. I gave the model of the old unit and the one I was planning to purchase and asked if the installation parts were interchangeable. Turns out they are. That meant a real time savings on the install. Also spared my back. As for the unit itself, it is amazingly quiet. Everyone in the family has, at one time or another, commented on the lack of noise. I used a sink-mounted on/off button - it is a shorter reach than the wall switch I installed 23 years ago. One more point worth making: they have improved the installation method so that you do not have to bench press the unit. All you do is lift high enough for a hook to catch, you then swing it up into place and tighten the lock ring. Super easy! I am completely satisfied with this product, but even more so with the company!

Heavy-Duty High-Quality Garbage Disposal
This is a heavy-duty high-quality garbage disposal. It costs more than the cheap ones, but it will last much longer, meaning that I won't need to replace it as soon. Also, it is powerful and quiet. The easy mount system that they have adopted in recent years is a vast improvement over the previous mounting system.

Best Disposal Ever
Best I've ever used. I've never installed a disposal before and was able to get this in within 30 minutes. It uses the existing connection to the sink if you're upgrading from another insinkerator. It's also crazy quite, like I forget it's on sometimes quiet. The sounds of the water splashing is louder than the disposal. It's worth the money to get this model. I've had it for about a month now and would never recommend anyone get something else. It's a little bigger than my previous 1/3 hp model but there is no issue with space under the sink. It's easy to mount and holds up to large chunks of food.

It works exactly as they say.
The evolution seems to be a large improvement of the longer, earlier models, in several areas. It definitely provides a finer ground, and seems to be better insulated. That does add weight, but it muffles sound far more than earlier disposals, and seems to run smoother. The added weight also may be the reason it 'moves' less. The quieter use means I can use it when people are sleeping and not be concerned about waking them up. If you have older pipes, or any sort of questionable septic situation, this model is a must over others due to the several stage grinding. It basically eliminates any issues this could bring up. While it won't remove any issues due to misuse (you still can't put grease or meat down these, no matter what people say), it won't cause any issues. One observation is that the motor, likely due to it's power, takes a second or two longer than its predecessors to spin down. Its a little heavy; holding or carrying it might not seem like it, but when you have to lift it in a small cabinet and hold it up, it suddenly can become a little cumbersome. This weight is unavoidable considering the entire thing is a giant grinding motor. You can install it yourself, but it's best to bring a friend. I still feel after installing several of these the twist on flange is unintuitive and the instructions are a little unclear for new users. While a lot of people may prefer the new cable 'plug' setup as it is easier to use, the added cost I would have rather wired it the old way myself, since it added an additional I believe $10 to the cable cost. This isn't a deal breaker, just a frustration. They may have found in testing and support that the cable situation too confusing for people, but I don't know how, as it was color coded. Regardless, Five out of five stars, I would purchase again and strongly recommend.

Good replacement for builder grade disposal.
Not my first time having to change a disposal, that said this was not hard. Some advice have a bucket ready as there will be stinky water. Make sure you have plumbers putty to seal the ring to the sink. Get the quick connect if you have an outlet under your sink. It’s super quiet and powerful. Our old one was a 1/3 hp Badger it was fine but loud and I waited for it to fail. I think this one is 2 stage might be 3 stage. There is more stainless steel parts that should make it last longer. If you’re deciding between this and the .75 HP version, I’d spend the money on the 1 HP.

It grinds and disposes of garbage!
I replaced an InSinkErator 1 HP disposal that had something weird happen so that every once in a while it sounded like the "impellors" were hitting each other inside. Anyway I think this was the closest replacement of a similar item. I didn't need to purchase any additional attachments - it hooked up to my dishwasher drain hose just fine. I used the external cord connector to wire up the old wire from my old unit which I think they designed for "direct wire" connections, but my cord worked great in it. Replacement was straight forward and I decided to replace the sink attachment even though I didn't have to. That required a small amount of Plumbers' Putty which was not supplied. The box bragged about this being the quietest unit InSinkErator sells. Frankly it is just a little quieter than my old unit and that's mostly because the rubber gasket at the top of the unit is almost closed, making it more difficult to get food scraps into the disposer, but it keeps the noise down. Frankly that gasket even makes the water flow slower into the unit so it tends to drain your sink slower, especially soap suds - all to cut down on noise. It says it can grind just about anything you can shove into it - like even small bones - but I've just done the usual vegetable waste and coffee grounds, and it works just as it should for that.

Best overall disposer experience I’ve ever had
This disposer was worth every cent! First, it is quiet… I mean, REALLY QUIET… I’ve had friends comment that they’ve never heard one that is that quiet. Second, it literally eats everything! Now I’ve never put bones in a disposer, but after reading about this monster and its capability to handle small bones (like chicken) I gave it a try. It took a chicken thigh bond bone and ground it up easily. Whatever I’ve put in it, it gets ground up and goes down the drain… no slow drain, no bogging down… I’m anticipating this disposer will have a long life even though I’m not afraid to put food scraps down it.

Wiring connection unnecessary… Just use wire nuts.
Seems like a good disposal. It is quiet and installation was standard except one thing. Connecting up to AC power the plug clip solution is just stupid. They should just do the standard wire nut connection. My electrical uses 12 gauge wire which made it extremely difficult to get it to bend the way it needed to bend. If you use 14 gauge, you’re OK just really read all the instructions thoroughly and plan ahead. Expect to make a 90° answer for that silly plug.
