Amazing Quality and a Strong Magnet for placing it on a Metal Surface. It is a GREAT Value for what it can do. I own the Peter Mckinnon 25L Backpack n that has some rather larger Straps that not everything can be strapped to it. I have another Ulanzi Product that works well but this just is.....well simpler to use so I'd recommend this to anyone that has a camera backpack with Large Straps.

This clip with quick release is absolutely fantastic. The feeling of the quick release mechanism is very pleasing, smooth and solid. The clip is very solid, holds well.

It is versatile, and I like how you can rotate the direction it points. I also like the quick release, which is why I purchased it. The magnetic is only just strong enough as I use it with my Pocket 3. It could easily be a stronger magnetic, so 4 stars.

GoPro Hero has been an essential component of my bike packing for years. Great camera for action sports but it has always suffered from hard to overcome audio limitations (wind noise, fidelity, dynamic range, off axis pattern). To rectify, GoPro sells the Pro 3.5mm mic adapter - great for bloggers & podcasts. But how does an action user benefit from better audio potential by using a quality 3rd party mic? Enter Ulanzi that makes a case for the GoPro Hero PLUS the 3.5mm mic adapter (pictured). Coincidentally (or not) Ulanzi also makes the clip mount under review. So how does this all work together & is it the solution for those who want to strap mount a GoPro Hero on a backpack shoulder strap or cycling vest instead of a helmet or handlebar? Depends on your specific setup & goal. Obviously mounting the Hero in a larger frame to accommodate the 3.5mm mic adapter adds both bulk & weight. Additionally, all backpack straps are not created equal. In my case the combination works. The Ulanzi alligator clip mount is well designed & has sufficiently powerful clamping power to keep my GoPro secure on the strap. Straps will (& do) twist & torque as you ride so the camera lens will be moving in sync to the strap motion. For some, that adds a ‘realism’ to the video while others will prefer a more uniform, stable camera mount while riding. I’m happy to be able to directly record quality audio from my Rode lavalier as I ride, minimizing road & wind noise while vastly improving audio fidelity over the GoPro's built in microphone. Once off the bike, the Ulanzi clip mount has some great options including a strong magnetic base that allows substantial versatility options when a tripod is not present or feasible. For all potential purchasers, I can confirm the Ulanzi clip mount is a quality built product. The ingenious ‘twist to lock’ coupler allows easy, secure mounting & the alligator clip portion appears sufficiently well built to last. Clip mounts will never be everyone’s cup of tea but this product is, for me, a very useful addition to my ever growing stable of GoPro accessories. (I sometimes wonder how many we ultimately need to make the GoPro Hero the ‘perfect’ action camera). Ulanzi clip mount definitely recommended as long as you accept its limitations in actual usage. A personal preference product, IMHO.
