Eve makes the best Smart Home power switches hand's down. Totally reliable, stays connected to my Matter/Thread system, fast response to commands. What's not to like? They do cost more, but for the lack of trouble I get from other brands of lower quality, they pay for themselves. (Look for sales like Black Friday and buy a bunch!).

The Eve Door & Window Sensor is hands down the best sensor I have ever used! Doesn’t work. Won’t stay connected. Waste of money.

The Eve Door & Window sensor is another great product from Eve. Setup with Matter is very easy. I am using this as part of my Apple HomeKit home. All I have to do is scan the QR code on the product and my phone automatically connects to the sensor and adds it to my home. I setup my sensors as a door sensor to check if the front door to my house is closed. You can also add automations like turning on a closet light when the door is open. Additionally, with Matter support this Eve product now works with Alexa and Google Home! I am very impressed by the ease of setup and responsiveness of this product and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a smart home contact sensor.

I received two packages, both had been tampered with/opened; One of the sensor doesn't connect. Updating: factory reset of the "broken" sensor, using the reset pinhole, worked. I suspect these might be refurbished? but they both work now.

Good overall quality and met all expectations. If you want Matter support you must download the eve application and upgrade the unit to support matter. The process works as described in the upgrade guide.

I'm very tech savy and a software engineer. I've had a couple dozen of these Eve door and window sensors over the last few years and some are just bad, I'd say about 10% of them fail and cannot be reset so they work, new batteries, etc. I feel like Eve sensors are almost like a printer and we're all paying a subscription. For goodness sake Eve should examine whatever parts are failing and go with another supplier! They are not cheap so make them last.

I own the older version of Eve Door & Window and this model is way more responsive while Matter adds the flexibility of using Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant. Note: You do need a hub of some sort. I use my second generation Apple TV 4K as a hub, but it also works with some devices from Amazon, Google and Samsung. It runs off of a ER14250 battery which is included. I use Eve Door & Window to be notified if someone in the family opens or closes a window at home. I can also check the Eve app to remotely see if I left a window open. I'm excited to use Eve Door & Window to setup automations for my next IOT project.

Great sensors, but the ergonomics are not ideal. It was difficult to use on my sliding door because of the inset, I had to make my own risers to line of the sensor. Also, the way the risers interlock is not intuitive. Key them so you can't accidentally snap them in the wrong order/orientation.

I did everything required. I ended up ordering 2 appletvs because it wasn’t clear upfront on the requirements but waved that off on my own ignorance. After ensuring the proper AppleTV for the thread border router was the correct product, I went through weeks of support (a lot of no responses) with absolutely no success. I’ve returned the product and going with something else.

Apparently some of these have overly tough to remove battery compartments which are a struggle even when it's not applied to a surface and I'd imagine infinitely worse when adhered. This is unacceptable at any price point, but it's worse at the premium they charge for their products.
