Nordic Ware Vintage Star Bundt Pan

Love this pan. Really sturdy and my bundt cake came out perfectly. Recommend greasing it well before use though.

The interior surface is merely OK and not as good as the other numerous Nordic Ware tins I've bought, and mine came with black marks like smudges on the central cone which is poor quality control. I didn't get as far as baking in it, but the baking surface feels the same good quality as the far far cheaper KitchenCraft Masterclass equivalent (ASIN B0001IX44U) that I bought recently. You're paying for the Nordic Ware brand and for the shipping costs from the USA (it's a USA company). I know it shouldn't matter in practical terms, but unfortunately it does matter to me in emotional terms, that unlike other Nordic Ware tins this doesn't have the company name nor capacity size incorporated within the moulding. (Maybe I wouldn't notice if this was the only Nordic Ware pan I owned.) You'd need to keep a separate note, which is 10 cups / 2.36 litres. The only way you can be sure it's by Nordic Ware is from the cardboard packaging! The instructions for use and care are on the reverse of the cardboard wrapper, plus a recipe for monkey bubble bread (USA ingredient measures of course), as follows: 1. Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water. Extended soaking is not recommended. 2. Before each use, brush with butter or shortening and dust with flour or cocoa to coat. Baking spray containing flour may also be used. Do not use regular cooking spray. 3. Mixes and recipes may vary. Fill the pan no more than 3/4 full to avoid overflow. 4. Metal utensils, scouring pads and abrasive cleaners should not be used on nonstick surfaces. [I take this to mean it's not dishwasherable, as dishwashers use abrasive chemicals.] This tin could do with handles for manoeuvring and to give the option of storing it hanging up. Instead I recommend the excellent Nordic Ware Anniversary bundt pans: large ASIN B00004RFQ4, small ASIN B0000DE2U.

I love Nordic Ware pans. This one, Vintage Star makes a good looking cake. I use cake release that I make myself and it worked great. The cake just slid out perfectly. This won’t be my last pan.

I own many Nordic ware cake moulds and this one is my latest purchase. I used it to make a rainbow jelly cake for the party. It is super easy to take out from the mould. Everyone is amazed how beautiful the cake is.

The missus has a smashing recipe and this unique mold made her cakes the talk of dinner! Highly recommended if you are bored of the usual molds
