Golden Acrylic Medium, Glazing Liquid, 32 Oz, Satin

This is a great product for glazing and creating depth. I used it to create Rothko-like acrylic paintings. It doesn’t take much. I used an approximate ratio of 1/3 glazing, 1/3 acrylic fluid paint, 1/3 water. Mix well. The layers laid down beautifully. Don’t rush the process. When glazing, let each layer dry thoroughly before laying on another thin layer. Brushes clean easily with soap and water.

You can't go wrong with Golden products. But, knowing which one to get is imperative. I got the SATIN finish, because I wanted to "tone down" the plastic sheen that acrylics have. This Satin finish worked perfectly for keeping that shiny plastic-look to a minimum. I was using it on stretched canvas. Very happy with this product.

I wanted to achieve an absolutely streakless semi transparent layering on top of my paintings with acrylic. I realised that this is very hard to do and there wasn’t much information about how to achieve this type of layering with acrylic paint. After countless trial and errors, I mixed one part Golden glazing liquid with one part water mixed with the acrylic paint of your choice, the water makes the liquid less viscous and significantly reduces streaking. However the product is quite expensive and I’m not sure how much better it is than using Mod Podge for the same purpose.

Golden products as usually always good and do what they say they will. I love the glaze for several different uses. It is the only glaze I purchase. Never lets me down. Highly recommend.
