High quality gaming keyboard
After being disappointed by the quality of a couple of keyboards more than twice the price (broken or non-functional keys, poor software etc), which led to their return, after my previous and now obsolete Logitech gaming keyboard died with various keycaps shattered, I thought I would give this a go. I am extremely pleased after a week or so of intensive use. The build is very solid and the functionality of the software is excellent. Every key can be individually coloured or preset schemes applied. It has 5 programmable keys as well. Polling rate and repeat delay can be set for the keyboard as a whole though not for individual keys. Full media functions are there but require use of the Fn key in combination with the F keys. The one factor that potential buyers need to be aware of is that the key noise is quite loud and clicky. Not a problem where I am using it but in a shared area it could be annoying. Don't load the software that comes in the box - the latest version is available on the US Amazon page but not on the UK page. Overall I found this to be very good value for money given the features it offers and build quality compared with comparable alternatives which will start at perhaps twice the price or more. If my mouse dies in the future, I will give the Amazon Basics version a go as well.

you cant go wrong with this keyboard
got to be honest i'm surprised at the quality of this keyboard, full mechanical 'blue' switches, which is good if you like the loud click. the build quality is surprisingly solid, and the palm rest feels good with a nice stippled texture to it. The switches feel fairly good, they are sort of clones of the cherry mx blue switches, fairly light actuation force with a tactile bump and a click at the actuation point. for the price this is at you really cant go wrong if you want a full mechanical keyboard with a number pad as well. it is very, very loud to type on though which isn't and issue for me but definitely not something you'd want in an office unless you want you're colleagues to kill you. EDIT - over a year on, so not long after i wrote the review for this keyboard the price nearly doubled and I think it was because I was one of the first people to buy it. Even with the price much higher I would still say it's a good buy.

Good quality keyboard with a major flaw
First impressions were good, keys are great to type with, keyboard feels heavy and durable, looks great too. The noise emitted by the keys when pressed is louder than expected but I felt this was a minor issue. My first issue was locating the software needed to set up the macro keys and customisation, and I spent a good hour or two tracking down the software from various product pages, eventually finding what I was after. The major flaw is that now, after 3 months, the keyboard has developed intermittent 'dropouts' where it will lose power for a split second and it happens regularly. I have tried to remedy by performing a reset to factory defaults in the software to cure it, to no avail. This is no longer suitable for gaming as the keyboard can't become unresponsive when constantly relying on it for movement purposes. Would not recommend.

Fantastic for the price
Very good for the price, just make sure to download and install Amazon's new software for this keyboard which can also be found on this product page, the software CD provided in the box is out of date and has bugs and issues, I realised this after using the software on the CD! The keyboard comes with outemu blue key caps, and for me, it's a decent type, not bad at all for the price, although there is a *tang* coming from the key presses, some keys worse than others, the noise is bearable, but very noticeable, keyboard is very clicky, and also quite loud, but again, bearable as long as you get used to it, or put some music on in the background or use headphones. I use headphones often so it's not a problem for me, but just make sure not to be typing an essay in the night if someone is sleeping in the room next to you, as they'd definitely be able to hear it. The keyboard's software allows you to create profiles for how you'd like the customise the colours and create macros for each one. For me, I don't really need any macros, so I haven't make any changes, although I have changed the colour of my keys to just stay on with a plain white-blueish light, so it's basically just a black lit mechanical keyboard for me, which does the job well, and I am happy with my purchase for the price.

Good features, poor build. False economy
In terms of features and function, this is, on paper, a winner. However it is not well built and was returned after a single day of use. PRO Great lighting effects Decent software - if you can find it Highly configurable Solid mechanical switches on single keys Very responsive CON Large keys are AWFUL. Return action has space bar, enter, shift etc making a rattly twang Very plastic build. Think fisher price and you're there Really heavy, which is not bad in itself, but combined with the slightly shonky plastic shouts more Lada than Mercedes. In the end, after a couple of days of use, the enter key stuck down so was returned. I'd avoid it.
