My first examination of the product was very pleasant and surprising. The quality of the fabric and the frame were above what I expected for the bargain price. As I was opening the package, I was thinking, ‘it will probably be a piece of junk!’. To my surprise, it was fine quality fabric and workmanship. The mechanism for opening and closing the umbrella is strong and sturdy. I expect to see this last me through many strong storms. It folds to a reasonably small object. It will fit in my purse or book bag. I might embroider my name on it to add a bit of art. It is beautiful. Another matter I must tell you about: this came with a personal letter of thanks from the designer and make of the umbrella. She shared her story of frustration from losing many unbrellas to destructive winds in Amsterdam where she lives. Can you imagine getting a thank you letter from any other designer? I can. 40 years ago I go a thank you card from a company that made my clogs. The employees signed the card and they also included a group picture. I will before using my new umbrella tomorrow. I’ll write about my experience of using it. Recently, I used this umbrella in a strong wind storm. It was a fine tool. However, I had to learn how to control its behavior so that it didn’t whip around me. Once I did learn how to handle it, I had to learn how to collapse it after the storm. It was an easy learning experience. I am still happy with this umbrella. I feel happy carrying this sky blue color.

I purchased three Tumella umbrellas and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality. The build feels solid and durable, especially compared to other umbrellas I’ve owned. Dear Annelies, This is a 5 star product in every sense of the word. The umbrellas is built strong, yet aesthetic and will serve my purposes for a very long time. With the letter you sent along with the package you said that if I ever have a problem with the umbrella drop you a note on your customer service support line and you’ll send me another one!!!! I’m not writing you on your support line because there is anything wrong with my umbrella. I’m writing to say thank you!!!! I’m in Los Angeles where it truthfully only rains a few times a year, if that. We are a desert. However, over the last few days we’ve had a rain storm, pretty significant for this town. And my umbrella quit functioning. Of course I went to Amazon, I looked around and I found your Tumella and was instantly impressed by the video of the wind tunnel and the umbrella’s strength. Again, not that I need a heavy duty umbrella, it only rains a little in Los Angeles. But I was impressed with how far you went in trying to make a very good product. Something better, more durable, more reliable than the mass market. You wanted to be better than the rest for the sake of the customer!!! This stuck with me. So I purchased it. And by the time it arrived we were still experiencing rain and I got to use my Tumella to my sheer delight. It works perfectly. But all of the above is the lesser reason of why I am writing to you. The envelope you included with the umbrella was so fantastically cute and adorable, I was instantly compelled to write to you. The letter, the font used, the picture of the family, your story of how and why you made this product, was so over the top cute I was thrilled at your extreme desire to make your customer happy. And the fact you were willing to send me a new one if this one somehow stopped performing…just melted me!!!!! This is so very unique in the age of fast, disposable, low quality merchandise. Such a breath of fresh air from an a commercial or industrial viewpoint. I have no idea who you are and I am, of course a total stranger to you. But you, your story, your product, your ability to make a superior product over the rest of the market, and your letter including your beautiful photo of your 5 kids!!! (Are those really all yours???) touched my very heart in a way that has not been done in a long time. Especially by a mass marketed product. Thank you for your product. Thank you for your human touch. Thank you for being a cut above the rest. You are obviously very special. If you ever happen to travel to Los Angeles with your family, please call me so I can shake you hand. I hope you sell tons of your umbrellas. I will recommend you to everyone I see. The TUMELLA is a beast against the wind. Tested at 70 MPH, its 9-rib fiberglass frame stays steady when others snap. The auto open/close is snappy, and the compact size is perfect for travel. The only minor flaw is the double-canopy design; while it prevents the umbrella from flipping inside out, heavy rain can occasionally drip through the vents. Still, for a sturdy, wind-resistant companion that won't fail in a storm, it’s a top-tier choice.

Everything in the description is accurate. When it snaps open it sounds sturdy. Closes neatly. Very sturdy. I bought it because mt previous umbrella self destructed. It popped open and would not close. Comes with a very nice letter from the Annelies family in Amsterdam with a story about what inspired them to build this sturdy umbrella. I love the sturdiness of these umbrellas. I bought two early Jan 2025. Unfortunately after a few months, one of them stopped working and I was unable to close the shaft (the other one is still in mint condition), so after reaching the Tumella team and providing evidence of the issue, they were happy to send me a free replacement. They were speedy in their reply and followed up all the way through until they knew I was happy with my replacement which I received within days. Overall I am a very happy customer and would definetely recommend buying!

The umbrella looks nice, feels well built, and easy to use. Have used in sunny, windy, and rainy conditions - does a good job. A tiny amount of water gets through the wind vents under extremely heavy rain, but this can be mitigated by holding the umbrella at a steady angle. So far it's a reasonable compromise considering how well it's holding up during heavy rain and wind.

The umbrella is of a high quality, extremely well made and sturdy with a choice of unique designs. It is a bit bigger and heavier than your average umbrella, but is still compact enough to easily carry in a rucksack/bag. So far has been tested in heavy rain and windy conditions and it hasn’t let me down yet, would recommend
